Is there a reason why Jesus picked 12 men to teach?

I should know the answer to this question since we have been in the G12 for a while as a church with Cesar Castellanos. 12 was authority I think. There are also 12 tribes of Israel.
12 stones on the altar of someone, my I could have paid attention better.
Elijah?
The Holy Spirit wasn't poured out until there was a new 12th disciple.
Oh yes government, it speaks of government.
You can only disciple so much people on your own, not hundreds. The idea is every cell leader, disciple gets their own cell, you get new disciples when they disciple them and so on. That's the new wine skin instead of the old church system of one reverend who does everything and this way everyone gets discipled and becomes fruitful and the world can be won.

why did Jesus pick 12 men?
The number 12 in scripture is symbolic of governmental perfection or Israel. Jesus picking 12 is symbolic of choosing Israel to bring about the Messiah.

Matthew 19:27-28 ESV
27 Then Peter said in reply, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?” 28 Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Because he was not an idiot. You work with the tools and materials you have in the setting you occupy. Why 12 has been discussed. Why men was because what he taught was a major step, putting women in the position of carrying the torch after he was gone was simply not feasible in that society. Actually the degree that women were involved was a bit scandalous.

200,000!? I wouldn't call that a single chruch anymore.

There are huge charismatic cell-churches out there. I think the biggest one in Korea was at some point around 700 000 members. The reason why they can become so big is that they're organized around small groups which gather at homes, so the growth is in no ways limited to limits of organization or building space. Gathering at homes means that when new people join -> new space to hold meetings becomes available.

It's still single organization, typically built in pyramid-like manner, someone trains a group leader, then after some time, that person trains someone new to be a group leader etc.
