It doesn't matter. Stop disrespecting the dead by blaming them for the actions of one man.

That's an interesting take on my post....

Please elaborate where i've done such a thing.

My point is that it doesn't matter who was and wasn't armed among the victims. They're dead. And they're not coming back.
Your posts seem like victim blaming to me. Rethink your words and how they affect people.

Yes, it DOES matter. It matters enough to find ways to prevent this senseless tragedy from occurring again.

Such as banning assault weapons and enforcing stricter gun regulation laws? Yes, I agree.

And, as Roseburg prepared last night to bury its dead, Mr Mercer said had his son not been able to get hold of the guns, “it wouldn’t have happened.”

“Look all over the world, you don’t see these kind of mass shootings all over the world on a consistent basis like you do in the United States, so somebody has to ask the question: ‘How is it so easy to get all these guns?’

He refused to discuss his son’s mental condition – it has been reported that he suffered from Asperger's syndrome and was a reclusive figure, obsessed with Nazis and the IRA, and angry that he didn’t have a girlfriend. Harper-Mercer forced fellow students to crawl over the floor and beg for mercy, before shooting them anyway, and wrote in a note before the shooting that he would be "welcomed in Hell and embraced by the Devil".

“Even people who believe in the right to bear arms, what right do you have to take peoples’ lives?

“That’s what guns are: killers, simple as that. It’s black and white. What do you want the gun for?”

Police announced on Saturday that they had found another handgun at the flat Harper-Mercer shared with his mother, taking the total number of weapons to 14.

so that the only "armed" anybodies would be the criminals?

Yeah, that would makes us all safer, right?

And yet, look at all the mass shootings. Yeah, we're so safe right now. So safe.

If you had read, you would know I don't support the ban of ALL guns. I just think they need to be regulated more strictly than they are currently. Also no reason to own an assault weapon short of going to actual war.

No, it's not enough to have gun free zones in a few spots , we need to look at nation wide changes.
Then if guns were made illegal in all across the country do you think the criminals would not have guns?

Other Western countries have far less gun violence than we do, and stricter gun control, so we have models to follow.

How about Australia? Do they have strict gun laws? Or how about France?

The solution isn't banning guns from everyone. It is making it difficult for mentally unstable people to get ahold of them. The average criminal isn't going into a middle school, high school or college campus to shoot up the up the place. Most people who commit crimes, even with guns, aren't that deranged.

What we should actually be addressing is mental health. That's the real problem that connects all of these senseless killings.

Are you aware that conservatives have been saying all along that the problem is with mental illness?
