And He will seek to destroy all of them in the Day of the Lord that is coming

The USA unfortunately is ripe for His judgment today and there is no recovery in sight

This may very well be the fate of America [Revelation 8:6-12; 14:8; 18:1-21]

Are you saying that America all by its lonesome and on this one issue can alter the timetable of God for all of humanity? Are you saying that God will extend the suffering of Christians in North Korea just on the balance of whether the government of the United States lets homosexuals marry or not?

And that all the wars, all the murdered innocents, all the starvation and hunger, the entire world groaning like a woman in labor in anticipation of the return of the King...all of that will continue indefinitely...because of a single issue in America?

Is that what you're saying?

I am opposed to gay marriage and I believe it is a sin, however, I never totally understood why some people think this one thing specifically is what will "ruin America". The United States already had a long history of sin even before the supreme court decision. Look at all the years of slavery, segregation, land theft, bloodshed, perversion etc. At the end of the day, human beings are sinners by nature and practice, and the only cure is Christ, the only one who can restore us back to God.

Not to mention many other countries already have SSM and God hasn't smitten them.

God is not about to destroy the US because it is still a Christian nation (where most of the citizens are Christians). The US will last for a thousand years.

Fundamental biblical Christianity is almost nonexistent .... the numbers are few and shrinking

The professing "Church" today is sorely apostate .... and the Lord has said that narrow is the gate, and that few will enter therein

I hope you're not asserting that God's actually going to burn up the planet, because that's not what the scripture you referenced is saying. If you look at the definition of 'elements' it means principles, rules, or philosophy. That's the subject of what's being 'burned away'.

Any teaching that God's actually going to burn up the planet is actually not a Christian teaching, but is rooted in the teaching of ancient Stoicism called Universal Conflagration.
