What do you mean, I have to "understand" Paul?

I'm not going to write a book. My basic complaint is what I've said dozens of times, that Paul writes to gentiles, and you apply what he says to Jews. Remember that? Of course you do.

This is true. His letters are specific to their recipients. Like a letter would be.

gosh, one Lord, one faith, one baptism said in Eph, you ignore that! Since Paul wrote to both parties as you can not disprove, then 1 thing is it, amd you can not disprove that, how embarressing! ONE FAITH>>> ONE>>>>>>>>ONE>>>>>ONE!

Where does Paul say it is appropriate to address other Christians like that, exactly?

NOWHERE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NOWHERE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NOWHERE!

I did not mean the "book" of revelation..

12:7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.

You might like to consider a little less opacity next time.

His letter show that he first preached to the Jews.
1Co 1:23

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1Co 1:24

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Romans had Jews and Greeks in the home churches. Jews even had a home meeting. There were Jews in almost, if not all of the churches, one faith, one body, one church. There were Jews in the church of Corinth, etc.

Rom 13 Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, 4 who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks but all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks as well. 5 Greet also the church in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was the first convertb to Christ in Asia.

Amen! he was called to both, as you know, and both got saved, and both were in his churches. You're always right on bro!

I forget where I read it, but there were actually two churches in Rome for a while, one Jewish and one gentile. The Jewish church gave Paul the cold shoulder. Indeed, Jewish churches in general were giving Paul the cold shoulder. I wish I could remember the verse, but he says somewhere something about those who had abandoned him.

I am objecting to the tone of the post, and then mirroring it.

It is a shade uncivil, don't you think? I think myself we have to allow for passing non Christians, and imagine how they would regard our discussion between ourselves.

It's a catch phrase in law debates, the pro-law people say it to the grace people, who quote Paul on law.

The law people act like the grace people somehow misunderstand Paul as the grace people wield Paul loud and clear, in no uncertain terms, as they, the grace people, use TEXT to prove their points about law. Only to hear the catch phrase:yawn:, this sort of be all end all reply, that has no substance to it, as the law people act like they rebutted a verse.

Ok, so perhaps the law people can quote Pauline text, and show us grace people what we don't understand.

Post a verse or two from Paul, and tell us why we are wrong as you elaborate on the verse, to try to prove how we "misunderstood" Paul.;)

Thanks! frogster.
There are no verses in the new testament that teach one must obey the Law in order to be a christian or in order to stay a christian. The Lord explained the matter to saint Nicodemus (before he was converted) in these words:
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God. (John 3:16-21 NAB)

I agree with you! In fact, gal 3:3 means if the tried, they would be using flesh, or human effort.

well, the churches of Judea weren't giving him the cold shoulder.

Gal 1:22 And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23 They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they glorified God because of me.

I'm afraid so. The church at Jerusalem was the chief of the cold shoulderees.
How could they give him the cold shoulder, when he never went there? Plus it clearly says, they gloried in God about Paul. So my dear sis, you are wrong on 2 counts, thanks, frog.

Paul was in Jerusalem in Acts 15 and again in Acts 21. In Acts 21 it is clear they didn't like him, because of the rumors that he was teaching jewish believers to abandon the Law.
