If they choose not to elaborate even a little bit without revealing any details..why post? I guess you can say I am in a conundrum because I find it puzzling and confusing.

Are you two sure it isn't about not sharing but whom isn't sharing? :eheh:

I think what he wrote was encouraging for those who may think how G-d speaks to them may be strange but seeing others talk about it no matter how little would help them.

If you benefited from "lots and lots".. cool

Let's get back to why this thread was created... Getting real with dream communications with God and the benefits.

After two nights following a vivid dream as a warning, a soul shaking dream, the dream comes true for me. I have had vivid dreams as warnings, that burned into my psyche, where I can still see detail after years have gone by, that pinpoint certain people, and their surroundings, even where they live, who will be a challenge in my life at a future point in time. I am currently dealing with one of those dreams now, and it is interesting. I received word of an issue about a year ago, and then I had a dream about a month ago that is commensurate with the word I received a year ago. I'm in awe. That GOD and his Heaven is awesome! In the Bible he says "I will give your young men visions, and your old men dreams". Unbelievers call it "deja vu", I wreckon. What I want to know is, at what age do we become old? 25? 35? I am of the physical lineage of Israel, maternally for sure, and possibly paternally.

Vis, a person saying that God has helped them in a dream without disclosing the details opens up the reader to the notion that perhaps God is talking to His people directly. They may begin to consider what that might mean and even ask God about it. That's a good thing. Some people are closed minded to that and need to know that it is happening. That's all.

Have you ever discussed the vision or the meaning with God in your dreams? Have you ever had those visions in the waking hours when God talks to you? Has God opened up scripture and explained things? Sorry to ask so many questions. I know that it is amazing to have on going conversation with Him and they are not all night visions.

It was a little over 16 years ago, I was a brand new Christian. I had a very vivid dream. A hotel on the coast, right at the water's edge. The sun was shining and many people were around. The dream suddenly shifted to chaos. Something on the land was taking over. Those who stayed would die, those who escaped would never return again. My family and I were in the hallway, right outside our hotel room. We quickly rushed into the room and grabbed what we could, then left. Once outside we ran down the dock to get to our boat. While running, I dropped my Bible, it fell through a slat in the dock and began to sink. We had to get on the boat immediately. On my knees looking through the slats into the water, I looked up. My spouse, children, parents...an uncle, none of whom knew the things hidden in the pages of the book, were urging me on the boat. I woke up.

the dream has been with me all of these years. It has made me want to study, understand, and learn as much as possible, knowing there could come a time when God's word is unavailable. Realizing, if I know those words, they can never fall through the slats.

There is a difference between these dreams and the ordinary ones. If they are from Him, you can conversate in the dream with Him, to verify and know it is truly Him talking to you through these dreams.

I didn't conversate in the dream with Him, to verify and know it was truly Him talking to me, so I am not sure if this is the type of dream you are talking about...I did, however, have what I call "an experience" a couple years ago. But I wasn't asleep. It continued for about two week, it wasn't just one night.

Genesis 2:21-22 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

21 And Jehovah God causeth a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he sleepeth, and He taketh one of his ribs, and closeth up flesh in its stead.

22 And Jehovah God buildeth up the rib which He hath taken out of the man into a woman, and bringeth her in unto the man;

John 5:19 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

19 Jesus therefore responded and said to them, `Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son is not able to do anything of himself, if he may not see the Father doing anything; for whatever things He may do, these also the Son in like manner doth;

Thanks. Well, it happened on a work night, and it was kind of scary, so I couldn't find time to. It didn't dawn on me that it was from above until the event took place. As far as God opening up scripture with me, he does when I break down and turn to him.
As far as God talking to me while waking up in the morning, HE did that ONCE in recent memory, and HE was excited, on the beginning day of Passover 2013 (my first Passover observance). I had started it two days early that year, so HE was kind enough to be there when I was waking up to let me know it was beginning day, two days later. Unfortunately I told him " I would rather have a woman wake me up". (It wasn't his awesome voice either). Needless to say, I think he might have taken offense to it, because hasn't done it since. :O, :I, :( Shut my mouth!!! On the 7th day of Passover that year, I didn't have enough sandwich lunch meat, so I stopped in and bought a Kentucky Fried Chicken tender ( that dates me there, it's not KFC to me) to make up for lost lunch meat, and after I swallowed the 1st bite, I felt a finger tapping on my ribs above my heart. It was then that I suspected it had leavening in it. It took a few minutes to realize THE LORD forgave me for the leavening I ate, when I figured he was letting me know my Heart is what he's after, and not so much the Law.
So why do I promote the Law? Because it is good, and it took alot of guilt off of me. Besides that, if we can, we should at least try to do what he has told us to do. By golly, I set aside only one week a year to eat no leavening as a sacrifice, for all he has done for me.

Yes, has it ever happened to you?
Yes, one night without prayer, I laid down for the night. The attack was real as a large wisp of black smoke came flying at me, the smell was death, my throat constricted like his hands were upon my throat, the room went cold, and then I remembered and called upon Him. He came, and the nightmare was over.

I too have expressed foolishness before Him, and then realized it later with regret. I love how the Lord works with each of us personally, and even in discipline it is lovingly reminding us of what should be our first priority.

You only benefit from dreams if your interpretation is beneficial. The dream itself will just fade from your memory, if you don't think about it and interpret it and then make the interpretation affect you.
Some are vivid for a reason. Some keep returning and repeating until you accept them and ask the Lord to explain.

Well that's psychology. Happens to people from all cultures. Coming to terms with or exploring the crevasses of the mind and the parts of the self that don't surface in daily life, as well as running simulations of future eventualities and what to do in the event this or that happens. Many nightmares are just tests to see how you'd react in a stressful situation.

Excorcism, likewise, is found all over the world. The ancient Egyptians performed excorcism, the Catholics did/do it, the Muslims did and do it, etc etc.
