Ok. Dershowitz makes a similar defense as renown 1st Amendment lawyer, scholar, and law professor Eugene Volokh.
The argument is Trump Jr. has a First Amendment right to receive information, including incriminating information about Clinton from a foreign national. The argument is not meritless. I linked to Volokh's 1st Amendment defense of Trump Jr.'s conduct in another thread at this forum.

When I see the editors of all the major MSM networks and papers going to jail for disseminating illegally leaked information, then I will better be able to understand what the crime may have been.

Who caused Flynn to lie about his Russian connections? Who made Trump fire him?
Who caused Sessions to lie about his meetings?
Who made Junior blab about his meetings with the Russian lawyer? Who made him release the entire chain of emails which document his collusion?

Please for the love of God, make it stop. I hated the email scandal with Clinton and Whitewater and all that mess and I hate the Russian thing even more. Health Care Reform is screaming for bipartisan work and it's wandering around in political limbo because Trump's son was stupid enough to go to a meeting that accomplished nothing. I'm not a revolutionary but if they don't get to something substantive soon I'm ready to lead the riot to stop them. We can drag the journalists of of Fox, CNN and MSNBC out into the streets and waterboard them until they agree to stop this.
Donald Trump jr. is guilty of being stupid, shaaaame on hiiiiim! But it's politics and they are human so things like this happen. Can we move on now? Please.

It's not the same thing, quit denigrating Nixon, he made a mistake but he doesn't deserve to be lumped in with Trump. The firing of Comey had me alarmed and Trump will answer for that. His administration has lied and his tweets are a propaganda machine unparalleled but we know the difference between hyperbole and real world truth. I can't stand listening to this over and over, there is just too much at stake.
Maybe I'm flying off the handle, guess I need a break from all of this. But I don't care about this meeting with the Russian lawyer, there are too many real issues involved. I miss Obama, heck, I miss George W. Bush, I really miss the days when politics were boring. Can we get back to boring details like how the government works?
Otherwise I think I'm going to really lose it and...I don't know...start a revolution. I don't like Trump and I delight in seeing him embarrassed in the press. But this is getting ridiculous.

It's illegal for someone in an election campaign to accept help from a foreign government... now, if Junior just came out and said, "look, I did something stupid and didn't know what I was getting into, and I'm sorry," then sure, we could let the whole thing slide in time for the next scandal.
Alas, Junior is his father's son, and just wants to lie his way through it... he just keeps making it worse...
