How can I hold simultaneously the idea that there was no global flood and there was a global flood? The evidence and basic physics support there not being a global flood, the Bible suggests there is.

By assuming God cleaned up the mess. How can I hold simultaneously the idea that there was no global flood and there was a global flood?
For sanitary and safety reasons. And why would God do that?
I'm talking about the fossil record, not the fact that the earth doesn't look like it was recently flooded. A global flood would have left evidence. For sanitary and safety reasons.
In fact, God repopulated the earth with plant life.
Do you clean up after yourself, or were you ever told to?
Assuming the fossil record consists of animals that died in the Flood and ...I'm talking about the fossil record, not the fact that the earth doesn't look like it was recently flooded. A global flood would have left evidence.
But if God altered the fossil record so that the evidence showed the flood didn't occur, why did he do that? If He made the earth appear to be ancient, when in fact it's only 6000 years old, why?Assuming the fossil record consists of animals that died in the Flood and ...
Assuming that God cleaned up the mess ...
Let's assume He did it two ways:
1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
I have explained the matter ad nauseam.
(As to cars etc. proving the validity of science, you again parade your ignorance of what science actually is.)
But if God altered the fossil record so that the evidence showed the flood didn't occur, why did he do that? If He made the earth appear to be ancient, when in fact it's only 6000 years old, why?
As we cannot ascertain what is absolutely true, if someone held a view of literal belief in Harry Potter then to that person it would be as valid as anything else.
Gods are so conspicuous by their absence it would be reasonable to say that Gods seem not to exist outside of a people's minds. He works in mysterious ways?
3000 years ago he was all "do this, do that", poking round in people's business. Now we can see that there's no evidence of what he's done and the stories don't ring true he's apparently changed tactic and is testing our faith by his absence, funny that.
Assuming God did it according to my pet theory, God did not alter the fossil record. But if God altered the fossil record ...
Yes.He works in mysterious ways?

There was no fossil record.
Just an Ark floating on top of water, with "floaties" floating all around on the surface and clear to the "ocean" floor.
When everything dried up -- at God's command -- things were placed "decently and in order" in sediment layers.
Like making a bed: bed sheet first, blanket, bed spread.
Either that, or I quoted some verses in my posts. And all of that you of course found in the Bible. Or perhaps not, and not from science either. You just pulled it out of your own head.
Yes.Welcome to the world of dispensation theology and ontological subordination.
Bodies of animals don't float for very long, with variations in body type. If the fossils were put down that way, humans should appear in it before birds do.Assuming God did it according to my pet theory, God did not alter the fossil record.

And if you were willing to accept my offer of recommending books on paleaontology and sedimentation then you would understand why your suggestions are silly. I regret you elect to remain ignorant and seem almost proud of the decision.Assuming God did it according to my pet theory, God did not alter the fossil record.

But what if God shook the earth like it was one of those snow crystal things you see at Christmas time?Bodies of animals don't float for very long, with variations in body type. If the fossils were put down that way, humans should appear in it before birds do.
