You guys are so funny. You accuse us of fairy tale beliefs when in fact ther is no evidence that those who wrote the gospels wrote the gospels which had been handed down from word and mouth.
You might want to do some study on the subject. There's actually a discipline dedicated to textual criticism.

There is more evidence to support the gospels and the other books of the Bible than there is for the BoM. And yet you continue to minimalize the the Bible while holding up the BoM as Scripture. How fairy tale-ish is that?

The problem is that in the Bible there are prophets of the OT that are quoted by Jesus and the NT writers and even the geneology of Jesus was laid out in scripture. Paul the apostle to the gentiles was once a Jewish Pharisee, so he understood what the issues would be and how it would be seen by some Jewish peoples from the get go.

The ackwardness of this doctrine is that it "pops out of nowhere". God reveals Himself to us over and over in the scriptures. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

So why would we believe that God has told us nothing of this heavenly mother or that we have spiritual parents even after He has laid it all out very completely.

That is so inconsistant with the Bible, because that is not how God has done things, or continues to do things. We even have many prophetic words about what the end of days will be like, so we are not left as babes wondering. God has laid it all out for us.

That is why this doctrine is hard to believe, because that is not how God works at all.

There is another part of this doctrine that bothers me. It is how Adam & Eve were created. When Eve is created she is created from the rib of Adam. Now why would it be done like that if there was a heavenly mother diety? I believe if this doctrine were true than Eve would have been created on her own, separately.
I could answer it like many main stream Christians can't answer hard questions. It is a mystery of God.
There has been enough said here about what was early Hebrews believed and how it became a male oriented worship. Let's suppose that these things were taught but was lost because MEN quit believing it. It really doesn't matter to me as to why they quit believing. I know it is what I believe because it makes more sense to me than believing that God created us male and female for no reason at all since he could have created us A sexual. I would much rather believe that I have always existed in a different form than to be poofed into existence on a Gods whim because he was bored and needed toys. Did you ever think that if God could created a woman out of a mans rib that he could have created a woman from his?

Heavenly Mother came from Heavenly Father's rib?
We have 24 ribs, are there two dozen Heavenly Mothers?

I'm not sure how you came to this conclusion.
You take literally that God is a spirit from one verse where the scriptures describe God having body parts like his arms and legs and a face and eyes and ears and hair yet when it says we have to worship God in spirit which would mean we can't worship him with our body on. You can't have it both ways. God does have a spirit but so do we.

Here's what the text says:

וַיִּבֶן֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהִ֧ים ׀ אֶֽת־הַצֵּלָ֛ע אֲשֶׁר־לָקַ֥ח מִן־הָֽאָדָ֖ם לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וַיְבִאֶ֖הָ אֶל־הָֽאָדָֽם׃

Then you must believe that God has feathers.
