I wonder if Lowes would sponsor it?

Since CF has a heavy Christian bias, they would have to. Otherwise, the right wing 'we are being persecuted' Christian groups would get their panties in a bunch. And that is not a good thing. Fair and Balanced Fox News would pick it up, blow it out of proportion and misrepresent it. The Fox ditto-heads would drink it in, and then you would have another candidate, like Rick 'Strong video' Perry, to pander to the isolated segment of the population. Then the world would end.

-The End.

If Lowes gave in to a demand to withdraw its advertising from a show about American Christian conservatives, there would be outrage coming from every social conservative blogger, radio or TV host, and of course the Florida Family Association.

Yep, that's the risk any business runs. Companies run advertisements during certain shows because the shows have viewers, AKA potential customers. I am quite certain that if Lowes had been able to predict this, they would never have placed their ads in those timeslots to begin with, and nobody would have thought anything of it. It's the ad agency's job to protect their customers (Lowes, in this case) from potentially being caught up in a controversy, and their job to undo the damage if it happens. Shame on the ad agency that let this get so far out of hand. I can guarantee that Lowes is far more interested in selling faucets than in anyone's religious views. A good ad agency would had Lowes reply to the first group of emails with a letter stating that they are only interested in running a good company that sells good products and are uninterested in getting involved in religious matters, then slowly and quietly pulled the ads with a vague "They're not getting the results we had hoped for."

I often wonder what CF members are like in real life. There should be a reality show of that. ;)

The Florida Family Association decided to instigate a letter writing campaign to Lowes (the hardward & applicance chain) to get them to pull their sponsorship of TLC's All-American Muslim. It seems to have worked. Now some Muslims are on their case for caving in to the bigotry.

Lowe's hardware pulls ad from 'All-American Muslim' after Christrian group's outcry, now faces more outrage - NY Daily News

I do not see the bigotry here on behalf of Lowes. Rather, I see a company afraid their support for the show will hurt their profit return and as a result, decided to rescind their support. Acting out of financial concern, greed, or a desire to maximize a profit is not bigotry.

Very sad. The Florida Family Association should be ashamed, as should Lowes for pandering to religious bigotry.

Hmmm...right...are you sure they made a decision as a result of "religious bigotry" or because they did not want to lose a lot of money and business? The two aren't the same and I suspect, based on Lowe's comments, their decision was a financial one and they couldn't care less about the religious implications, or whose religion was winning or losing in the minds and thoughts of society.

Right, if Lowes were bigoted they wouldn't have scheduled the ads in the first place. The bigotry is from the FFA - Lowes succumbed to it.

Whoa!! How about a seizure warning or something!!! That was too much!

Meh, I shop Home Depot anyways, never really like Lowe's. And I'll shop there even less knowing they succumb to bigotry.

It's Lowe's decision. I do not believe that they should have been intimidated by the FFA, but ultimately it is their decision what they wanted to do with the sponsorship or not.

If I were Lowe's CEO, you all know what I would've probably done, and it would involve a very colorful letter to the FFA, and I don't mean in crayons. But they did what they did, and the Muslims and that California Senator shouldn't be targeting Lowe's... they should be attacking the tyrannical FFA.

No, Lowe's bowed down to the almighty dollar and profit. I doubt they really care who is the source for their profit or their motives and reasons for them making a profit, or threatening to hurt their profit.

Yet if this had been a show about evangelical christian lives and Lowes pulled out Lowes would be horsewhipped for being anti-christian.

Double standard? Check. Carry on.

Low's will probably catch more heat by succumbing to the will of the bigots than they got in the first place from the bigots.

Their inability to properly spin their decision speaks for itself.
We'll see. I for one will continue to support Lowe's

And how. More bigoted religious conservatives bullying others around. Nothing new.

So, basically the FFA bullied Lowes to pull the ad time on the Muslim based show. The problem, in my mind, is the FFA. Lowes was faced with with bigotry from the FFA.

The FFA sucks.
Freedom really sucks doesn't it?

A show about Muslims is one thing. A show that portrays as "All-American" a creed that rejects the principles on which the United States Constitution was founded is quite another.

...but how are you going to get all the Republicans off of television?

Wait. You mean these big, evil corporations can be bullied by consumers? I thought big business bullied us. Hard to keep these left wing arguments straight.
