The Florida Family Association decided to instigate a letter writing campaign to Lowes (the hardward & applicance chain) to get them to pull their sponsorship of TLC's All-American Muslim. It seems to have worked. Now some Muslims are on their case for caving in to the bigotry.

The North Carolina-based Lowe's issued a statement apologizing for having "managed to make some people very unhappy."

"Individuals and groups have strong political and societal views on this topic, and this program became a lightning rod for many of those views," the statement said. "As a result we did pull our advertising on this program. We believe it is best to respectfully defer to communities, individuals and groups to discuss and consider such issues of importance."

Interesting. The Florida Family Association and Lowe's demonstrated what we call freedom while the California senator demonstrated what we call tyranny. Kudos to those who stand for freedom

Lowes is just advertising hardware. One group of customers cries about being offended. Lowes says "OK, we'll step out and let you guys battle it out." Now another group is offended that Lowes doesn't want to get into religious battles. How odd that they're not interested in it, since their business is hardware and appliances, huh?. Now we throw some idiot politician into the mix to stir up more trouble, threatening legal action for not wanting to be in the middle of this snivelfest, and the media is screaming bigotry. What a bunch of whining crybabies. Freedom means that you might hear someone say something (GASP!) offensive. Quit blubbering and throwing idiotic accusations of racism, pull up your big boy pants, and move on.

If Lowes gave in to a demand to withdraw its advertising from a show about American Christian conservatives, there would be outrage coming from every social conservative blogger, radio or TV host, and of course the Florida Family Association.
