Olbermann told it like it was, and I admire him for that. Sure, his style was brash and in your face like a lot of conservative pundits are, but I agree with a lot of what he said. I'm surprised he was allowed to be on the air for so long in such a Faux News dominated TV world.

"Never said she did"

It was a clear implication. Your disdain (and I am being kind here) for Palin is evident, therefore it is perfectly reasonable to conclude you would be perfectly willing to allow such a comment to be attributed to her even knowing she didn't make it. Kind of like the continued "I can see Russia from my house" thing.

Clicking the "Quote" button makes responding easier

And you're grasping at straws right now in this debate with Goodtry. Who cares? We all know Sarah Palin is as dumb as a brick, stop trying to play damage control...

The word you are looking for is ratings.

"And you're grasping at straws right now in this debate with Goodtry"

Not in any manner. Goodtry and many others who post here flood the forums with what they believe to be cute and clever little comments targetted at Palin's expense, but rarely make any comment substantiated by anything other than their own personal opinion. I responded with what was accurate concerning his comment, as I have before on these forums and will continue to do anytime complete rubbish is posted all in the cause of appearing enlightened.

"We all know Sarah Palin is as dumb as a brick"

You know nothing of the sort. This is simply your opinion based on your disdain for Conservatives, or a Conservative woman, or anyone with the backbone to express Consevative values you disagree with. It is a standard tactic employed by the left against any elected official or candidate or even potential candidate they don't like, just keep repeating the same lies about them until those lies become the truth.

He hasn't said anything crazier than that loony Olberman guy on MSNBC......

.......who Al Gore just made "Chief News Officer" of his TV network. This tells us all we need to know about Al Gore.

I do believe that was a bullseye.

That is absolutely right. And before they can demand blind allegiance to the State they must first destroy society's foundational unit: The Family.

Really? Is this what passes for insightful thought on the right? The Liberal Wants To Destroy the Family? How does this even pass your sniff test? Or do you just blindly accept whatever conservative thought that is inserted into your brain?

Do you know any liberals? If so, do they have families? Have you talked with them? Do you think they want their families destroyed? Of course not.

Even if you think some liberal policies have had a detrimental effect on some families, do you just jump to the conclusion that was the intention? I would think if anything, liberals desire to HELP people. They want aid for the poor, healthcare for the sick, and housing for the homeless. They don't WANT families destroyed. That's just nuts. And it scares me that you don't see that as nuts!

Popularity is completely unrelated to taste or truth. I mean, look at the consumption of reality TV these days. People love mindless, one-dimensional garbage. Faux News is the "news" equivalent to reality television - it's scripted and only valuable for entertainment purposes (as shallow as they may be).

Here's what I, Ann Coulter, unmarried and with no kids, think about the family and how liberals want to destroy it:

Your attempt at sarcasm only proves that, unlike the heathen, Ann Coulter knows you should not have children out of wedlock.

She made her choice and she has the discipline to live by its confines. If more girls were like her, maybe we'd see less of this:

Roman Catholic clergy made their choices too. I don't listen to what they have to say on issues of love and sex either, for the same reason.

Olbermann was a total nutjob and suffered from Bush derangement syndrome.

Wrong. Olberman went down because he couldn't maintain ratings for his show, largely because he had become a political hack who rarely commented on anything which mattered. Even if what he was saying was true his popularity declined because many got tired of the way he said it. To be "Olbermanic" was defined as to rant endlessly about something which made no difference, and people got tired of it. Even Jon Stewart ridiculed Olberman, as did SNL.

Nah those aren't cross-hairs, those are just surveyor marks.

I decided to quote this, because it is the most worthy post in this thread.

You, my good sir, win.

On Topic: I am a Liberal, I guess that means i want to destroy the family. which family btw? i wouldn't mind taking out the family's on all those "Housewives of..." shows. That'l teach Bravo for putting that crap on instead of "House".

You could have just said "I don't like Oblermann because I don't agree with him on many fundamental issues and I feel like his tone was very oft-putting."

Dude, ratings don't mean squat. Sure, he could have been canned due to ratings, but that doesn't mean he wasn't right about the things he said. Like I said, the fact that reality television is so popular (like Jersey Shore) is a testament to the stupidity of television viewers.

I wouldn't take your opinion on "people getting tired of him" because you don't like him in the first place. I stopped watching him because I didn't want to pay for cable anymore ;)
