Christianese noun. (krischun-nēz) 1. A language or style of speaking that is understood only by Christians. 2. Biblical terms or references Christians use that make a lot of sense to them but not to anyone else.
A couple of years ago I opened a thread on Christianese (and I think there was a more recent one). My thread was closed because it became a debate issue. So I am opening this one in the No-Debate forum.
Today, I picked up a little booklet entitled No More Christianese by Doug Addison. It is a glossary of Christinese with suggestions for everyday synonyms more easily understood by people who are not familiar with our jargon. It was written to help Christians better communicate with unchurched friends without using our insider language.

Repentant heart. (Being really sorry and wanting to change)
Stronghold. (Unseen obstacle blocking you from being your best)
Vestibule. (Lobby)
Washed in the blood. (Forgiven)
