Zindread’s Doom

Once upon a time, high atop a luminous hill
There live a rich old lady named Madame Mattel.
Her one and only companion was her cat Zindread,
It seemed to her his spirit was kindred.
To himself he knew the truth ,
In many a cat he had lost a tooth.
He was a user a drinker and a liar.
He had a coat of silver that shone like a mirror.
Like Ares his foes he did batter,
And out he’d stride his fur not a bit tattered.
His eyes were an intense gold
That seemed to peer into ones soul.
On Hallows Eve night as Madame Mattel slept,
Through the house Zindread crept.
Out the door, across town he did go
In the alley behind a bar to stow
Away, and lap from the empty beer bottles until
He was drunk and had his fill.
Out of the alley he stumbled into the street.
Met by a bright light he didn't try to retreat
Back to the side of the road. Instead stared
In drunken wonder, that left him unprepared
For what was about to happen. Hit head on
By a car he was flung through the air, and landed upon
The curb. Later he awoke in darkness surrounded
By a thick fog which left him astounded
With flesh ripped and torn
A sticky mess of fur adorn
In mud he staggered to his feet
And limped down the lonely street.
What happened and where we was
He did not know. Silently he looked down at his blood soaked paws
And wondered if he had died.
Searching for answers in the darkness through the fog, he spied
Little creatures dancing about. Zindread tip toed towards
The creatures, careful not to make a sound. And saw what seemed to be hoards
Of demons weaving in and out of the ashen mist.
With bags of tricks held tightly in their fists.
Behind him he heard a sound,
That made his heart fiercely pound.
As he turned around he came face to face with
Hades whom he thought was just a myth.
To the fiery gates of hell
He did not wish to dwell.
So instead he turned and ran,
For he hadn't a better plan.
Stopping when his breath grew short,
he found himself in a small court
Of dim light. In the corner of his eye
He spotted something miraculous. Which seemed to defy
All of his earlier beliefs. For it was an angel pure
In grace which began to lure
Him towards its side,
And to the gates of heaven they soon arrived.
Once inside he realized he was an idiot. The angel was just
A small girl in a costume. To himself he discussed
What he should do about his misjudgment. So then
He decided to leave in the morning, and never think of this day ever again.
For he was scared at first and thought he had learned a lesson, but
Then figured it was foolish to change his ways
For one unlucky day.
To Zindread God was just a joke. He didn't believe
God was telling him to leave
His old ways, and giving him one
More chance before his time was done.
The next morning Zindread quickly left and into the road
He carelessly strolled.
Where he was ran over again
And from his veins his blood did drain
Onto the pavement . His spirit was then taken to Hell.
And now’s the time to say farewell,
For he didn't listen to his warning
And now he's ****** forever mourning
