Beautifully made and absolutely enthralling games. I don't think I've played any long-running series yet that can match the consistent quality and grandeur of Zelda. Ingenious puzzles and dungeons, sprawling landscapes with multiple places to explore and all sorts of secrets to find.

Even though I've loved almost all Zelda games, I think the greatest one is Majora's Mask on N64. I was just so refreshing. The premise of living the three same days over and over again was ingenious, and I loved how certain things could only be done on certain days. The ability to use the masks in so many different ways was ingenious, and even though there were only 4 temples, they were brilliantly designed (and there were so many things to do in the overworld that the lack of dungeons didn't hurt it much). The entire art direction was great too, it just seemed.......darker than most Zelda games.

I just bought Zelda: A Link To The Past for GBA SP... Haven't even opened it yet. :/

><

A Link to the Past is my favorite of the series. There's just something about Zelda that works a bit better in 2D. Not to say that I don't love the N64 Zeldas and the Wind Waker, but the SNES one is the best. Have fun!! Oh, and I can't believe all the negative Zelda posts here....the game is certainly not nonstop action- it's not meant to be. But it's far from boring.

Well, if your cup of tea is more along the lines of constant action and destruction, then yeah, Zelda definitely isn't for you. But no other series I know of offers such vivid worlds to explore and such cerebral puzzles. There is just something satisfying about hearing that classic Zelda chime when you've solved a tricky dungeon puzzle.

Oh, and Zelda has the greatest boss battles..........EVER. King Dodongo in Ocarina of Time? Classic!

I loved Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That was a verycool game. I played the sequel to it, and wasnt so impressed, but then I didnt have too much of a chance to get into it. So I dont think that was a really good indication of how good it was. But yes im quite happy with my experiences of the Zelda series of games.

If I had to pick my favorite, it would have to be either the Ocarina of Time or Link to the Past. I was dissappointed in the last 2 Zeldas. They were far too easy and short. I liked Wind Waker, but Majora's Mask was, in my opinion, the low point of the series. I hated having to go back and get items back everytime I had to go back in time. It only took me 5 days to beat it and that was including 2 days in which I only played about an hour. I got everything and didn't even need the strategy guide.

The only Zelda I like is Zelda 2: The adventures of Link

for the nes, I got it way back when I was very young and owned a NES, I prefered it and still do to Zelda 1 which I already had.
I would have to say that or Ocarina of Time. I must say those two have to be two of the best games ever made.

Hey, I must say that Ocarina of Time was the best game on N64. Im really glad they got it for Gamecube too. It is one of the best free roam games i have ever played, and all the hidden stuff and puzzles and everything is awesome. It has a good storyline, and considering it was made for N64, really good graphics. It has hours of gameplay, and is always fun to play again. Windwaker seems fun, but they should have stuck to the old graphics. Besides that, it has a huge map and is just as fun as Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask.
