  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There is nothing wrong with taking your time. You don't want to start a new relationship before you've completely healed from the last. I think you're being smart about it.

I went to dinner with my best friend and her fiance and one of his friends about 2 weeks ago... It was mildly entertaining...

I haven't had time to date recently, but I am supposed to have a date this weekend...

that's why i like going out by myself a lot now. go to my favorite restaurant to date, the Asian Grill, a sushi bar have great asian beer, have great asian food (even tho my sinuses becomes more clear after the wasabi i eat but i still love wasabi) and enjoy the great company that asian owners and waiters give. seeing that in humanity makes feel pretty darn good to take myself out for a date.

plus i always end up spending about 26 plus bucks there on myself alone, thank god there is no one else there, LOL.

i'd feel the same if i'd meet a woman that all she talked about sex.

thing is, i think i have the audacity now to just end the date, and advise her to go to a street corner and i'll go back to my little apartment.

A year and a half ago. Yeah, seriously. Why? Well, I was in an undefined relationship with the last guy I dated for quite awhile before I finally moved on. Since then...just haven't met anyone I was interested in dating. I have to really like someone a lot and feel like there's a pretty good chance of things working out to even just go out with somebody.

Over a year. It has been because I can not find a Christian lady that I am interested in that actually shows her love for the Lord.

I have to admit that it is my own fault/choice I haven't been on a date in a while. I often find myself using the time excuse and "can't fine a good Christian woman excuse" when the reality is I just am not looking or taking the risks when I find one.

That, and I am waiting on Jessica Biel to dump that n'Sync chump and come begging me to be her man.

Well... the idea is to meet new people. I was talking about the number of first dates . Second or third dates with the same person don't count. Of course, if you can find a boyfriend after a couple of tries, more power to you. The ultimate goal is to find someone special.





It sure beats sitting at the computer thinking things like "Gee... Mina wants to restore an old house, she makes her own clothes, she is creative, occasionally wears cat ears, among other random things on my 'unabridged list of things that are pretty cool to find in a date'." (Just to provide an example) That sort of thing is counter productive if I want to get out there and start meeting real people again. Face to face, honest to goodness dating is the only answer. The idea is to be realistic, not imagining lots of hypotheticals about people that I've never met, and probably never will. I am comfortable with the fact that it will probably take me more than 32 first dates to find a girlfriend that I truly click with.

Not that there's anything wrong with flirting online if you're good at, and it works for you. Let's face it, I'm no "DeliciousBass" or "Spicy" when it comes to maintaining an online persona. My natural humor and candor mostly comes out in person. Here, as much as I appreciate you guys, I'm like a fish out of water. I can write a great essay, and lucid letters to close friends, but spontaneous online flirty wit is not my forte.

One thing that stinks about this format is that somebody can say something they just discovered, and it becomes associated with them. Meanwhile, I may have liked whatever it is for 20 years, and even make the thing myself, but it will never be associated with me because I didn't say it here first. There's a real lack of depth of communication that isn't so much a matter of "philosophical" deep, but "real human being with a history and a future" deep. Sometimes I wish I could communicate those things online, but apparently I cannot.

Anyway, I don't expect this to make sense. I'm just rambling. Time to prepare for work tomorrow.
