Why is it better to bring two Adventist fishing rather than one?

Because if you bring one he might drink all your beer.

I'm really sorry. I know I know I'm not the brightest guy around sometimes but..............I don't get it!

Could someone explain that joke to me.

Basically the joke is saying religious people act differently around their own people.

Well apparently they aren't instructing properly. It's in the SDA manual (and additionally, part of one of the 28 fundamental beliefs).

Fundamental Belief 22 is Christian behavoir:
Since alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and the irresponsible use of drugs and narcotics are harmful to our bodies, we are to abstain from them as well.

Baptismal vow

The alternate vow

Many SDA churches are turning to a more simpler version, which I believe is more biblically sound.-
I don't believe a person should quit anything to come to the Lord. Life style changes come later as the believer grows and matures.

Well, they should update their manual. The Kettering SDA church teaches that alcohol should be abstained if they want to be baptized.

I don't think a baptism should include any life style change only attitude towards God change.

. . . It doesn't strike you as odd to send your 14-year-child to live at a school that is 2 hours away from your home.

BFA

That always struck me as odd, but then I didn't go to academy.
