I'm using FF 0.8....and I've NO idea on how to upgrade.... I'm not too familiar in looking up files on my HD and also not familiar in installing a higher version in place of the previous one. Do I delete the old version on my HD before I instill the new version...? What folder do I look for?

First off, I'm a big fan of Thunderbird... thanks for the heads up!

umm... loribee59, usually with these types of programs the easiest way to upgrade is to go to the developer website and just download the newest version. You shouldn't need to uninstall or delete anything unless the new program asks you to do that specifically when you try to install it.

The best way to uninstall a program is from the control panel (I'm assuming you're using windows). But if you want to find a program's folder for something, they are usually located in C:\Program Files\

Hope that helps...

If you go on the firefox website, it clearly says to uninstall the previous verson of firefox before upgrading. If you have any plug ins (like I do) then copy them to another folder so they don't get deleted. You should never ever install a new version of software over an old one. Always uninstall first. Things can happen. Hope this helps.

Yes they can. If you have XP it saves your settings in your personal profile folder even after you uninstall the program. If you don't then, I am not sure what you should do.
Thank God that I have XP.... *whew*

So....question is, when I uninstall the old version, is there a folder that I need to look for...? Do I need to copy the bookmarks elsewhere, before I mess with the browser's components? Oh yeah, I'll need to copy the plugins too, I guess.
