  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm a little embarrassed, but not sorry. When I saw that the first sticky thread was titled WWMC roll call, I'd assumed that it was a place for new posters to identify themselves.

But if I had not made the mistake, I would not have met so many of you so soon, nor experienced your warm, friendly and forgiving natures. It would have taken longer for me to feel comfortable and "home" here.

I feel that the Lord led me to make the mistake. He "pushed me in the pool," so to speak, when I would have spent weeks barely getting my feet wet.

I'm honored that you already want me as a full voting member. I promise you I won't abuse your trust.

I've been away from CF for a while, and probably won't be around much in future (although with the changes that have taken/are taking place, actually I might be), but anyway, I think of WWMC as my home so would like to be added to the list.

Here in fits and starts, Protinus. Might come by every day for a bit, then wander away for a few weeks...or more. Sort of like the cow in the Happy Cows commercials who is racing toward the finish line and gets totally distracted by a dandelion. :o
