I had a dream the other night where I was, for some reason, going to go down into the depths of the sea with scuba gear on. It was night and I dove down with a flashlight. As I was diving tiny fish were scurrying to let me through and It seemed like I arrived at the place I wanted to be and I started looking around. I spotted in a crevice and a huge sea snake was in there. It saw me but I didn't move. It lunged at me and I choped it's head off. The snake had a big head with a very big jaw structure. It was red and yellow and had these glowing green dots that would fade in and out.
In the dream I seem to remember a few other snakes but this one I remember the most.

What could this mean? Am I killing things that I don't like about myself?

Only God can really tell you what this dream means to you, or someone He has given the interpretation to, but there are several things it could mean.

Water is often representative of the Holy Spirit. Being submerged in deep water can mean being submerged in the Holy Spirit.

Fish often represent souls of people.

Serpents, of course, can mean curse, deception, demon, danger, threat, hatred, slander, witchcraft or critical spirit.

Red can represent passion, emotion, anger, hatred, lust, sin or it can also mean enthusiasm and zeal, but since it was on a serpent, I suspect it wasn't a good thing. Yellow can mean a gift, good or bad, including the negative side which would mean a deceitful gift, timidity, fear, cowardice. Green can rpresent mortal, flesh, carnal, envy, inexperienced, immature.

Perhaps the Lord is telling you that if you submerge youself totally in Him, you can vanquish those demons and any others that pop up (the other serpents in your dream).

Water can also mean the spirit of man, so maybe you were swimming around in the devil's territory, with many souls (fish) swimming around, but you can still slay the devil, because greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.

What did you use to chop off the head of the serpent?

When I first started reading this I thought about when Jesus said, "I will make you fishers of men". I think the dream is saying that you have a place where you know you're supposed to go to do the Gospel. I think the snake represents a religious spirit that will be the main stronghold when you go to preach in this place.

Don't worry about it though. You chopped it's head off and that's what will happen when you actually come face to face with it while you're preaching the gospel.

Hope this makes sense to you.

The water represents a longing to have deeper or hidden knowledge, something you don't know now.

The beautiful fish represent what you expect to find on your search for this knowledge.

The snake represents what you fear you will find out on your search.

The red dots represent a stop warning, but the green dots represent a go message. This means you can't decide whether to go forward with the search or to stop.

All of these comments should act as a springboard for your own understanding. Usually it just takes a couple of things to ring true, and then it all clicks into place--don't you think?

I've heard a similar slant on the stoplights--that stoplights in real life give us a bit of resistance while imposing a bit of authority on us. So if these are green "go" lights on the serpent, they show standards and limits of permission to move forward.

Overall, it looks like you were very confident and enjoyed the dream, your success in it. See if that's true and how it fits in with things going on in your life.

When I read your post, I also thought of "I will make you fishers of men". Just throwing out some thoughts here:
You said that the fish were scurrying around to let you through where you wanted to be (which is where the enemy snake was). Do you think the fish were hurrying and letting you through (which to me could symbolize people talking with you about their struggles) to get help from you so that the enemy snake could be defeated? What did you use to chop the snake's head off? Could it be a tool of intercession? (A sword could represent the Word of God)

Sorry, one other thought:

You were fully equipped to go down into the dark sea (scuba gear)
You were bringing light (flashlight) to a dark place.

I think your dream could mean that you may be called to bring the Light of Jesus to the unsaved world/people living in darkness. The fish represent the men/women you will encounter living in the darkness, and they will desire your help (scurring around to let you through).

There is something about the snake in the crevice, but I just don't have a strong feeling as to what that could mean. There were other snakes present, but there was one that was the biggest threat, and it was hiding....
