I must missing something. In what way are you being used as a puchball?
While the Anglican communion bickers amongst itself whether my sexual orientation is 'moral' and whether people like myself should be granted the full range of civil rights given to other human beings, I have to put up with it in the privacy of my own home. If you can imagine what it is like to put up with discrimination and having it shoved in my face all the time, in the newspaper headlines, TV news, and on the radio, you can begin to understand what I mean about gay people being treated like punchballs and guinea pigs in a controversy they do not wish to be part of.
CatherineAnne,
What I do agree with you on is the way Rowan Williams has tried to keep the communion together, he has shown great integrity on his part. What I would question is whether that does him any credit. Scripturally in a dispute the matter is taken to the elders, in this case the majority gave rise to Lambeth 1.10. Lambeth 1.10 has been ignored by the TEC and liberals. So the TEC and liberals not only do not believe the scripture on homosexual practice, but they dont believe it on the authority of the church leadership either.
The leader is supposed to teach and correct according to the apostolic faith once delivered. These TEC people dont even believe the apostolic faith once delivered when it comes to matter of sexual relations, they think they know better. But the ABC should be correcting them or disciplining them, even expelling them (1 Cor 5) long time overdue.
On the other hand, it appears you are not an Anglican so I really don't understand you position vis a vis the Anglican communion.
Unless you self-identify as a member of an Anglican, Old Catholic, or associated church then you post here as a guest.'we' ah no I am not... was baptised and confrimed in Anglican church in the past
This returning of insult for attempt at serious dialogue is why STR has become nowhere most practicing Anglican Christians would find comfortable. Unfortunately, nobody seems to have any desire to correct the problem according to the rules.
