  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To others, writing may be a hobby for me. But to me, it's an obsession. I write when there's no pen or paper, when the only medium I have is my mind. I don't go to the movies that often, and you could say that one reason is that I'm always watching people in my head. If you took away writing from me, I would die a slow and painful death. I write because I have to. And if you say it's just a hobby, then I'll say "Well, maybe for you...."

I hope to be publishing my writing officially, one day, too. If God is willing, I hope to be a full time writer. But the reason that writing becomes a hobby now rather than an obsession, is because writing tends to cut me off from much of the real world and people, and right now, I feel there is a need for me to stay away from writing for awhile to catch up with my school work and fellowship more with people.

Yes, it is quite amazing. I have been able to get away with doing all kinds of things that would otherwise have landed me in therapy (carrying a sword around, for example). You would so love it here
