Yes it is conditional on us believing but where in scripture does it say that can only be done while in the mortal body? The standard answer is Heb 9:27 it is appointed for man once to die then the judgement. But this doesn’t mean that the punishment is eternal but the judgement is, the judgement is did you follow me in the mortal body or not that is eternal no second chance. The punishment lake of fire till one repents. This is the only way God gets what he wills, He will get what He paid for.
Matt 9/Mark2/Luke5 Jesus said that if you put new wine in old wine skins , the old wine skin will be destroyed. Does this mean that the wine skin will be burned in eternal fire? No it means that it is no longer able to be used as intended. You assume that destroyed means eternal torture but it can mean that it is no longer good for the intended function. Universalism is a man-made teaching that makes a mockery of the cross and Gods' justice and judgement for sin and is a false teaching designed to lead all those who follow it away from God and His Word.
The false teachings of Universalism are simply the same lies given to mankind in Genesis 3:1-5 that we can disobey God and no surely die. This is the same lie given to Eve simply re marketed under the name of "Universal Reconciliation" which teaches the same lies that we can disobey Gods Word and not surely die.

It really comes down to how we translate aion those of us in the UR camp use the literal translation meaning of the age or eon, those who prescribe to the Latin way of translation say it’s eternal. And because of this the two worlds will never see it the same. I see God as loving his whole creation and before the foundation of the earth he had a plan to redeem his whole creation. You see it as either satan messed up Gods plan and now God has to try to same some or He really is a monster who created most of his creation to be tortured forever and that is just the way it is. For me I do not get the way you see things when I read scripture I see a loving God who could not create things just to be tortured.If Jesus is the exact representation of God I just don’t see him condemning most of His creation, why would he get on James and John for wanting to call down fire and consume those who disrespected him if they were most likely going to be burned anyway, and on the cross He asked God to forgive the very people who were killing him. That is the Jesus I see.It took God a long time to convince me that Calvinist were actually Christians . I figured they worshipped a different God . But then He showed me we all have error in what we believe and some of them are just Christians who have errors no different than I have errors also. There is no second chances for the unrepentant wicked at the second coming as the scriptures teach us in Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Universalism is a man-made teaching that makes a mockery of the cross and Gods' justice and judgement for sin and is a false teaching designed to lead all those who follow it away from God and His Word.
The false teachings of Universalism are simply the same lies given to mankind in Genesis 3:1-5 that we can disobey God and no surely die. This is the same lie given to Eve simply re marketed under the name of "Universal Reconciliation" which teaches the same lies that we can disobey Gods Word and not surely die.

Yes I did, sorry, I was trying to understand how what you said responds to the post you were quoting from. I was never talking about interpretations of eternal in my posts here. Did I miss something?Did you read my post? I can’t make it any clearer.
I think it comes down to what is being destroyed. I see it as the soul being destroyed not the spirit. No place that I have seen says the spirit is destroyed. Then we have to ask what is the soul. I see the soul as what we have made of ourselves our life what we have created. That is why Jesus said if you want to save your life you must lose it, we die to self and live to God our lives are a sacrifice to God a living sacrifice. But if we try to hold onto our lives we lose it , it will be destroyed. That’s why scripture tells us God can divide the soul from the spirit. Those who live their lives for themselves lose their soul but not the spirit.
