I'm guessing he was asking why dids felt justified in using these words, to classify fellow believers
"If you want to say WoFer are all rapists and child abusers you can... without explanation or query."
As if those of us here who are non-WOF ever made such a remark. It's actually quite uncalled for and rather insulting.
Well, ok, if you want to listen, there are a few things I think needs changing in this forum, and the sooner the better.Actually, I'd like this thread to go for awhile. If everyone could please comment without flaming others...please discuss what you'd actually like from SP-C. We've talked with others before about splitting the place up, having WoF be it's own congregation, etc. I'd actually like to know what the majority want.
Oh, ok, I see that you're right.I'm guessing he was asking why dids felt justified in using these words, to classify fellow believers

I ntruly believe that the definitions are so broad that anyone at all could post here and every time in the past it has been brought up the waters get muddied with this vague thing. We really need a more definitive definition or else a complete break so that the dissention that so obviously exists here would be put to rest.Actually we are talking two types of Spirit-filled Charismatics. One group is WOF and Pentecostals and group is non-WOF/Non=Pentecostals.
There is a WOF focus groupl
There is a Pentecostal focus group.
There is a non-WOF focus group
Finally spirit-filled Charismatics that WE ALL post together and we are very diversed group.

Thoughts on Charismatics vs. non-Charismatics
Like WOF and non-WOF?There was Baptist and Anabaptist in one forum until CF administration separated them to individual groups. Even though they are similar in many areas but divided big time a several issues.
The biggest problem is that for a few it truly is anti and is evident by their posts, so I think that seperate would be better.Would you outlaw the label 'Protestant' at CF?
Because Protestants got their name from PROTESTING Catholicism. They are PROTESTants, labeled for their direct opposition to the Catholic Church and what it stands for.
Now the name is 'non-WoF', it's not 'ANTI-WoF', not 'PROTESTING-WoF', it's merely not WoF. Charismatic, but not WoF.
I don't really believe that people who protest the name 'non-WoF' are genuinely offended by the name (unless they buy into a type of religious 'political correctness'). I think their real concern is that the name openly communicates that there's another way.
Thankfully, we have the freedom of self-determination; it's right up there next to freedom of speech.
peace,
Simon
Like WOF and non-WOF?
We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I think we should fellowship on the basis of that. Consider one another better than ourselves, as the Master taught. After all love will never fail, it lasts.I have wondered for awhile now why we have WOF and non WOF, I( know of no other faith group that has that. There is no Baptist and non Baptist, so does this mean we had better tighten the definitions for this area?
"Health, wealth, and prosperity" are no more important than love, forgiveness, and dying to the flesh. Why are those things never mentioned? Why do some people think all we ever think about are the things you named, and that we would think less of worship, prayer, the name of Jesus, or any other subject? I think that is what dids meant when he was saying people say all sorts of things about us.There is a huge difference between WOF and Non-WOF. Word of Faith is a teaching movement kindred to many Pentecostal churches and individuals around the world. Most Christian movements share common beliefs in the major aspects of the Christian faith, while differing in many secondary doctrines, especially in key areas such as they focuses on works in terms of faith towards health, wealth and prosperity. I dont view these as the essentials of Christian life and practice.

Would those who don't accept WOF doctrines be part of the group? We are called Non-WOF
I agree with the concept sister but it is lacking somewhat in this forum and if we are to do that then there should just be one big area and no denominations but I dont think that would last long.We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I think we should fellowship on the basis of that. Consider one another better than ourselves, as the Master taught. After all love will never fail, it lasts.
The problem is that we all have a common area apart from the debate and therein many problems layHello
I see them as little fellowship forums for people to fellowship with believers of similar beliefs. There is a WOF forum for WOF members to share on. There is a charismatic Non Wof forum for others, such as myself, who see themselves as Charismatic but not WOF to fellowship on.
Sadly however in the past few days there have been a lot of reports, attacks and thread deletions instigated by WOF members on the Charismatic Non Wof forum. Two threads have gone. There seems to be a lot of insecurity and paranoia coming from the WOF camp, even though WOF brothers and sisters have their own forum in which to share their distinct views.
This paranoia I believe is from a minority of WOF members, but I hope the Lord relieves their hearts from fear and paranoia soon. It certainly isnt doing the WOF cause any favours, seeing the propents of the teachings so insecure and neurotic.
I Believe the WOF forum is a great place to hang out, hope all WOF members find a stable home there soon and can leave the Non Wof forum be.
God Bless

That is well said, and understandable. It is peaceable and I see nothing wrong with that. However it is evident that some have stronger feelings by the way they respond. I can enter a conversation with someone I have never met before and make a peaceable statement about a subject that we mutually agree on and once they see my label they begin to make certain assumptions about me and talk to me in a disrespectful tone when I have said nothing to arouse it.Because Protestants got their name from PROTESTING Catholicism. They are PROTESTants, labeled for their direct opposition to the Catholic Church and what it stands for.

I never go there since I don't qualify. The main forum is good. I think the problem is more in the Sub-forums. Some WOF members seem to be hostile towards the 'Charismatic Non WOF section'. Can't understand why.

We believe the Word! We devour it! We abide in His Words and have His Words abide in us. Just what it says. And for that we're the "bad guys"? A group someone would want to label themselves as "non" WoF?
Personally, I prefer not to have ANY label. I am a believer. That's how my see myself, as a blood-bought, born-again child of God, a member of the body of Christ, of we are all a part of, no matter what church you go to, as long as you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth Jesus is LORD, knowing He died for you and rose again, well, what difference does the rest make as far as our relationship with one another? We are one!
