Why is weed a sin

How did God not create Weed? Who did? Evil? Who is that, Satan? Satan did not help God create the Earth or the animals or the plants, God created all of it. He created Satan too.

Evil turns it bad.
Sex is good but adultery is evil. Weed wasnt made for the purpose of getting high.
I cant believe this is really an issue for some people...lol
Its obvious that God dosent want people to do drugs. Or at least it should be.
God created you as well. If you sin and do evil things then its not His fault.

Ok, I think we agree on the fact that God did create certain substances that contain various properties that can intoxicate the mind.

The inert substance in it's natural form, is in itself not evil.

It is what man does with it, that is what makes it good or bad.

See....we ironed all of that out.

Me, I'd only worry about the youth and those who need to smoke daily in order to get through the day.

The adult who tokes up once in a while in the privacy of their own homes( I don't smoke marijuana and never have and unless it's legal, I won't), what's the harm?

When the drug is illegal, purchasing drugs supports organized crime...but if it were legalized and the government taxed it....the harm would be negligible and personal.

Only people with serious medical conditions where marijuana is the best solution/remedy for their pain or illness should smoke it (where it's legal for patients)... right now at least.

What about people who are stressed out or have the flue, or just want to wind down. What if weed makes them feel better. Should it be denied

I don't think so. If an adult wants to smoke a blunt in his house...who freakin cares.

You have to understand, I've never smoked dope in my life. The fact that dope is illegal and tobacco is legal, has to be political!

LOL...a "blunt" is that what they call "doobies" these days...

Anyway...I care...of course I'm not going to get all up in someone's face because they...ummm...burn a blunt in their own home...but I do care.

As I mentioned earlier and you also mentioned...purchasing illegal drugs supports crime...organized or otherwise...in addition to the spiritual ramifications of drug abuse

If anyone can truly tell me that they believe God is glorified via recreational drug use, then I humbly think there are bigger issues at stake.

My take on it is if it causes you to sin, then you should cut it out of your life. If not, don't worry about it. Concentrate on loving your neighbor. If you love your neighbor, you won't want to take him/her away from his family and put him in jail for a victimless crime.

The "your body is a temple" argument doesn't hold up because there are tons of things that are horrible for you that are not sins. McDonald's, video games, internet messageboards, etc. The "obey the laws of the land" argument doesn't hold up because a) The guy who wrote it was executed for not obeying the laws of the land, b) it's not illegal everywhere, and c) it hasn't been illegal in the US for very long.

If you just "know" it's a sin, then you shouldn't do it. If you don't have a problem with it, it's probably still a bad idea, but I see no evidence of it being "sinful". Just don't bring it in my house or my car and we're good.

Well, for one, Jesus might care, not worth the risk of going against him.

As for using it to "wind down", that's basically using it to escape. Plus it alters your perception of things, puts you in a "high, or stoned" state which is the equality of drunkeness.

I've done my fair share of smoking ganja and I believe it leads you down a path to nowhere.

If you think about it, it's setting your mind not on divine things, but on human things. Jesus had some big deals with this dilemma, especially with Peter saying "God forbid it. Lord! This must never happen to you." Peter saying this in response to Jesus talking about his persecution and death. Peter sought Jesus' life only because he was concerned with human things such as losing a friend. Peter should have been concerned with the divine, in that Jesus had a very needed purpose to die, a purpose sent from God.

So tell me, is there a purpose from God in you getting stoned to wind down?

Sounds like men living for their own self pleasure to me... A thing Jesus warned would exist in the last days.

But these posts have been useless, you enjoy smoking weed so much you tell yourself there is nothing wrong with it. You will say "God wants us to enjoy it" "God wants this for this reason" and blah blah woof woof.

Bottomline, you are going to do what you want to do.

If it's questionable, don't do it.

If someone said "right im a paster and i smoke dope, do what i want, only interpret the bible and law as i see fit" i dont think we would have much time for them. If on the other hand they had done all these things before they where Christians, repented and then worked for God. Well then we would have a lot of respect for that person. For some reason we now have high level Christians who are PRACTICING homosexuals at the top of their Church'es, saying that its not a sin anymore. WE SHOULD READ THIS.

Mark 7 v6-13
'These people, says God, honour me with their words, but there heart is really far away from me. It is no use for them to worship me, because they teach human rules as though they were God's laws.'
"You put aside God's command and obey human teachings"
And Jesus continued, "you have a clever way of rejecting Gods law in order to uphold your own teaching. For Moses commanded, 'Respect your father and mother,' and, 'Whoever curses his father and mother is to be put to death.' But you teach that if a person has something he could use to help his father or mother, but says 'This is Corban' (Which means, it belongs to God), he is excused from helping his father or mother. I would say that if they feel God is glorified thru getting high,.........

then they've probly already smoked one too many.

Well, what if there was two pastors. 1st Pastor Smoked weed for 20 years, starting when he was 13. But he has given up weed, no longer smokes it, and is a pastor. But the 2nd Pastor, only being in his early 20s, gives in to his impulsive behavior and starts smoking it for the first time. Then is pulled over and caught with a bag and gets a summons ticket for possesion. And probably gets fired. Why does the first Pastor deserve respect, or more respect then the 2nd pastor. What the 1st pastor did was so much worse since he was smoking it for 20 years and the 2nd one just started. And they were both christians yet made mistakes.
