I wasn't aware that "being taken seriously" is equivalent to "a religion". Care to explain?

Why just why?

It's having cake, eating cake and selling cake all at the same time.

So tell us, why is Darwinism so dangerous?
Not sure.
That is why I am on this thread, to learn more about Darwinism.

Let me go back to the original OP
[Had to go back 4 pages from here to find what the original OP said.]

Fundie atheists.
What is a fundie atheist?
Look in the mirror.
Colourless green ideas sleep furiously.
What makes me a fundie atheist?
You're dedicated to your religion of atheism.

Atheism isn't a religion.
If atheism is a religion then not playing golf is a sport, bald is a hair color, and not collecting stamps is a hobby.

Try again. What makes me a fundie atheist?

It would appear that people really don't understand what fundamentalism is.

"Fundamentalism is the demand for a strict adherence to orthodox theological doctrines usually understood as a reaction against Modernist theology.[1] The term "fundamentalism" was originally coined by its supporters to describe five specific classic theological beliefs of Christianity, and that developed into a movement within the Protestant community of the United States in the early part of the 20th century, and that had its roots in the Fundamentalist–Modernist Controversy of that time."

Last I checked, I have not required anyone to adhere to any orthodox theology or doctrine. I am certainly not requiring strict adherence to christian theology.

Yes, atheism is a religion, a Godless religion whos adherents are vocal, demanding (there's that word again) and inflexible.

From Wikipedia.....

"A religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence."

Look at your first quote here. Then look at my quote it is in response to. There is simply no way to cipher what I said as equating being taken seriously to a religion. Its like you skipped from step a to step z, omitting everything in between. Which is something I've seen others accuse you of.

I'm quite sure you're an intelligent guy, clearly you've learned what you've been taught. But when it comes time to apply it, you're so extreme in your thinking that you simply cannot even notice what someone else is saying. So what you come back with is not at all relevant, as in the above. These are the same symptoms of religious fundamentalists. I see the same patterns of behavior with them.

This would be the part where I lay my hand on your forehead and pray "come out of the man!"

That probably made the rounds here already and I apologize if I offended any Christians here, but really, lighten up a bit. You'll be healthier. Why can't you just engage a person at the level they're speaking from? Why be so silly as to insist I furnish evidence of what was spoken in a classroom? That's idiotic. Aren't you smarter than that? You must be. Not just switching that for text in a textbook, but you jump all over the place all the time. Settle down and just talk to people. Don't pretend I think I'm going to convince anybody, and if you choose to ignore reality that's your right too. That does not somehow make you superior.

Then what was the word "religion" in reference to?

Oh please. Fundamentalism is a religious movement. Atheism is not a religion. All you are doing is trying to apply the tu quoque fallacy.

What's more, what is extreme in my thinking?

I'm quite healthy.

You are making accusations. Is it so terrible to ask someone to back up those accusations? Or are you upset that people don't accept everything you say as if it were true?
