  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just to clarify, I would not doubt a persons faith in the Gospel based on their origins theology but I may well question it if the Gospel is absent from their theology.
Um, if there is no Gospel, yeah.

The Gospel is directly linked to the God's supernatural intervention in the special creation and throughout redemptive history...or did you mean to natural science?

A little semantics if you are interested...

The concepts of knowledge and wisdom as expressed in the poetic prose of Scripture directly correlate with concepts in natural science. Science itself is linked with knowledge thematiclly while wisdom would corrospond with technology.

Um, if there is no Gospel, yeah.

Which is the litmus test for Christian theism, here is the Gospel expressed in as consise a fashion as you are likely to find:

"AND I SAW ANOTHER ANGEL FLY IN THE MIDST OF HEAVEN, HAVING THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL TO PREACH UNTO THEM THAT DWELL ON THE EARTH, AND TO EVERY NATION, AND KINDRED, AND TONGUE, AND PEOPLE, SAYING WITH A LOUD VOICE, FEAR GOD, AND GIVE GLORY TO HIM; FOR THE HOUR OF HIS JUDGMENT IS COME: AND WORSHIP HIM THAT MADE HEAVEN, AND EARTH, AND THE SEA, AND THE FOUNTAINS OF WATERS." (Rev. 14:6,7)

(see also: Jer 32:17; Acts 4:24; Gen. 2:4)

Grace and peace,
Mark

I wonder how many micro-organisms were able to withstand the daily tromping at the foot of the walking?

Aren't plants alive? What exactly was Adam eating then?
THe Biblical definition of "alive" is anything that "has in its nostrils the breath of life." Insects breathe through their skin, so they are excluded. Plants do not have lungs, so they too are not alive - in a Biblical sense of being alive. They grow and react as they are programmed to, but they are not aware, nor can they feel pain.
