The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Well , don't harm yourself or allow yourself to die needlessly,I'd have to think long and hard whether or not to get out of the way.
Not neglecting all other Scripture, yes, this is truth also - AS WRITTEN (in a paraphrase I read long ago)Nothing that we do here really matters
I've come to the conclusion that no one including God really cares about the individual. Maybe God cares about people, in general, as a whole but not the individual. No matter what you do in anything it really doesn't matter. No matter the effort, it doesn't matter. No matter the circumstances, it doesn't matter. I'm really sick of this constant pandering of platitudes. I mean let's but be honest.
You both are still proving my point. Nothing that we do here really matters, to the point of the individual, but rather all related to His plan and nothing else. That's what I struggle with. Why are some people blessed with everything they could ever ask for, and I don't mean material or wealth, and others are required to suffer alone. I'm not saying it has to be equitable, I'd just like to understand the reasons why. I'd never commit suicide, I just wouldn't, but right now I feel like if a bus was coming right at me, I'd have to think long and hard whether or not to get out of the way.
During sleep or metaphorically? Sleep, no. Do I have dreams of what I would like in life, yes.Do you dream?
This is due to scientific advancement & human ingenuity (Necessity is the mother of all invention)Don't give in to defeatism. Most of us have it a lot better than we deserve.
If this were entirely true then I think praying, hoping and pleading with God would not have ended up in loneliness and nothing. I'm going to die alone because this life doesn't matter. I'm not saying God doesn't love us. I'm saying He either just does like me very much, or He's not concerned with any individual person and it really doesn't matter what happens to us in this life, because God is focused on the macro versus the micro.Well every single one of us are given thoughts, imaginations and states of mind that we can either accept or reject. God said through Paul, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" 2 Cor 10:5
Really though this is something we can chose to do...or not do. It is always easy? Of course not...it's a battle for the mind that yes Satan wages against us. He tries to tempt us into believing that God is indifferent...you know that's really not true but if people aren't careful they can allow that to become a stronghold in their mind which becomes difficult to overcome.
When I've had lets day a sad despondent mood and believe me NW82 we've all had them I've doubled up on feeding my spirit with his word, praise and worship and when I say worship I'm talking about not singing songs about God but singing to God, you know just as if he's right there in the room and guess what...HE iS.
When we build ourselves up strong all the sudden we have knowings....not necessary hearing an audio voice but God putting his thought into our spirits, and we know it's really communication from him. I know the thought that's God is indifferent can be a very tempting thing to embrace...but why do it because I think you know in your heart of hearts it's NOT TRUE. No Father has loved his children any more then the Father God loves his children and he says if you then being evil (or natural realm people) know how to give good gifts (or do nice things) for your children...HOW MUCH MORE...HOW MUCH MORE...HOW MUCH MORE will the Father in Heaven do for you. Indifferent? No. Just work your way through this and you'll know he's always been there.

I may be wrong, I admit, but I'm fairly certain that these verses are more toward provision of life, not happiness or fulfillment of your hearts desires. Outside of the Lord providing a roof over my head and food to eat, via a good job, I see no evidence of Him caring whether or not I'm constantly lonley; and yes I've tried not to be. I'm either not good enough, an annoyance or just a great guy, but not great enough for certain people.Well if you have any respect for what Jesus said and I suspect you do...does this appear God is more concerned about the Macro and compared to the Micro? Seems like he's just as Micro focused as he is Macro.
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:6
Sparrows...such small insignificant things...BUT NOT TO GOD! And yes every single hair on your head. He knows them all and is not indifferent.

Well if I recall you've said you'd like a family. Well I assume that means you want a wife and what children already made? No I'm not kidding. There's a lot of dear Mothers who need a good spouse and father for their kids. But...do you have the right stuff? Are you up to the challenge? I mean don't ask God for such if you're not serious. What exactly do you want? And please don't give me this stuff that you've tried this or that...no offense it's not my intent to be mean but that comes across as rather juvenile. Kids say, "Well I've tried to get those dishes clean!" Doesn't matter! Try again. And again, and again, and again! Of course if you're a troll on here just trying to yank everyone's chain then fine...I guess you've had a good laugh. But if you're serious God will meet you. And now you might think I'm not a very nice guy right?

well, you gotta be relentless. use any strategy with the exception of not anything bad or breaking the law of course. even if it's a slight chance, you have to try. try writing poetry and or try anything else to use your imagination for self expression. the reason why it is critical to stay alive is well...you'll eventually be at that peace. i think if anything, god wants you to live life with struggle...for that is life...no matter how impossible..or hard that standard of yours is in life, it's all about the struggle. train yourself in spiritual meditation since you are christian maybe? try not to avoid the beauty of life, it is good to observe nature outside. you can possibly build a relationship with a beautiful river. it is possible to communicate with a river you know, just stay there and observe the river for example. or look at a flower and read books on flowers...heck, read books on what you're going through for inspiration, surely if there are specific books out there for people with depression or on drugs from people who suffered those things and wrote books on it themselves for inspiration for other people and it worked, surely it can work somewhat at least in some angles of life for you. after all, people all go through bad things and demons in their lives and everyone is gonna be offered peace of death coming their way eventually...even you. to this end NW82, i suggest you train yourself in a variety of things to get your mind off of your suffering. try to go to some meeting up type clubs and meet people that way. books and movies stick with you forever so if you already haven't tried it, try it and go ahead with it all. so to everything i just said, try to get some things that you can do that can get you to have something in common with someone else. just trying to see if i can help is all. -DrifterIt doesn't matter what I do, what I try, different methods, different people, it's all the same thing. God hates me.

God does care about individuals. You can see that in 1 Peter 5.
1 Peter 5:6-10
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,7casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Jesus sympathizes with our weaknesses.
Hebrews 4:14-16
Jesus the Great High Priest
14Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Jesus wants to comfort in our times of suffering.
2 Corinthians 1:3-11
God of All Comfort
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,4who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.a 6If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. 7Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.
8For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers,b of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. 9Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. 10He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. 11You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.
Doesn't really matter in the end. I've accepted that I'm going to be alone forever. I'd just like to know why. But considering I've been on my face crying out to God in prayer, asking, pleading, and begging to know...I don't think he'll tell me.
