Why doesn't God show Himself

Gods tracks is his creation.

Speaking for DN's response, I think he poses a valid point. Evolution theory really doesn't necessarily have to posit no God, and can be viewed rather as proclaiming His Glory. Quite a grande scheme, in that regard ...

I don't think so but as interesting as the question is, it's really a moot point because God is all powerful and can do anything. It is just that He chooses to create in the manner that He does and we accept that because He is God and we are not. It doesn't necessarily mean we understand God's intentions but we have learned from experience that God knows best and wants the best for His children. A nice scripture passage that relates is written by the Apostle Paul.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. " (Romans 8:28)

Scripture indicates that the whole world will be filled with knowledge of God before the end comes. Revelation shows that there will be universal acceptance of God's reality and that unbelief will be a rarity. We will see actual rebellion against God and the numbers will be off the charts (Rev. 20:8)!

So before the end comes, God will show Himself.

However, I believe the time of God's showing can be delayed (it cannot be canceled since God keeps His promises) and it depends on how repentant the world is. If God sees little to none genuine repentance, then He can delay revelation of Him. But if God sees a great amount of genuine repentance, then He will show Himself.

Scripture shows that God hides His face when He sees impenitence and disobedience.

So how can we bring the time of God's showing nearer?

Intercessory prayer perhaps.

Consider Gen. 18:23-33.

God will have nothing to do with anything lacking his glory. God is all around us, visable aswell. You have blinded yourself from his vision through the will to create a world of your own. God can only 'see' himself, nothing else exists. In order to see God you must surrender your vision and let it be replaced by his.

Based on Christ's perfect and transfigurative death on the cross, knowledge of God in terms of "source of life", i.e., self-sufficient life, bringing "light to mankind shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out" (John 1: 4-5).

Christ's rhetorical question, "But will the Son of Man find faith on earth when he comes?", should be a source of worry (Luke 18:8). Shouldn't it?

Matt. 24:22 "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

There is assurance. God made a promise to the elect. His rhetorical question is nothing to worry about.

Mat 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

The proposal from satan was for Jesus to DEMONSTRATE through Intellectual means - WHO He really was. i.e. Y'all jump off this parapet, and let the folks down there SEE that the angels rescue you from a fatal plunge - THEN THEY'LL KNOW who you are and believe!!!!!!

Jesus answer was essentially: You SHALL NOT require of God a GREATER SIGN than He is pleased to give!!

God generally DOES NOT attempt to reward Either curiosity, or casual interest.

However he will pour out, in abundance, wisdom to those who seek it single-mindedly.

The kingdom of God is only seen through SPIRITUAL eyes.

God has revealed himself once and for all in the most fitting and once-and-for-all demo. of the power of "Christ, the Son of the living God" exercising his absolute authority over death and life right on the cross and making eternal life accessible to all humanity! The Devil's suggestion was a diversion.
