THANK YOU! I think we all should be buried immediately and then have a worship service and celebration of new life!At my mom's funeral we had a private burial and a public memorial. I like this much better than with the body there. A dead body sort of freaks me out
YES! I want pretty much the same...no public viewing or funeral. Just bury me immediately! Then celebrate my new life eternal!!Finally people who agree with me!! I hate the thoughts of a funeral. I don't want people gawking at me when I'm dead. I want my family to put me in a pine box and bury my remains. Then I want my family and friends to celebrate me being in a perfect place. I've buried my father, a mother-in-law and a brother, I hate going to funerals and will avoid them at all costs.
Cat...you are too sweet! I know memorial services and viewings are for the living. Perhaps we Christians would do those who are not a favor by NOT having a funeral. Who knows! To me, a wake and funeral are creepy.I totally agree with you.
I pretty much avoid funerals.
I went to my maternal grandmother's when in 9th grade.
And went to guy from church when I was in high school.
I opted not to go to all others since then.
I feel it is silly to say stuff about person after their death.
You should always let your loved ones know you care.
People have told me it is not for the person but for those grieving.
There is some nationality, I believe, that does as you suggest - celebrate the person's life.

is there scripture on creamation?? i heard that was a no no for Christians.In my case I don't even want to be buried. I want my ashes to be scattered in the wind and a celebration to ensue due to the fact that I'm home with Jesus. I don't want anybody to come to a cemetery to cry over my grave.
