RT is Van's shorthand for Reformed Theology, which is often equated with Calvinism, although there are some differences. Covenant Theology would be another nearly equivalent term.

Hi BIC, John 3:19 does not say all men, it just says men. You are rewriting scripture to fit the false doctrines of RT.

implied... in passage

does not say some

romans 3:23 says all men fall short of the glory of God

Salavation goes like this... with scripture

ungererated man ... John 3:19

God Father chose who he mark for salvation.. 2 tim 1:9, eph 1:4

The Holy Spirit put a protection on this unbeliever.. Heb 1:14..

Holy Spirit convicts him of sin, righteousness, and judgement john 16:7-11

Holy Spirit commands Satan to get out of His way.. 2 cor 4:3-6

Man sees the light of the gospel and believes!

Holy Spirit baptizes person INTO CHRIST, eph 1:13, 1 cor 12:12-13

the three person of the God indwell the New believer thus having eternal life.. John 17:3, 1 john 5:11-13

Hi BIC, all men are sinners, but John 3:19 does not say all men loved darkness rather than light, see Paul's decription of a sinner in Romans 7, who seeks the righteousness of God yet is a sinner.

God does choose each and every individual for salvation just as James 2:5 indicates, He keeps His promise to those who love Him. Everyone who has been individually chosen and spiritually placed in Christ shares in Christ's election before the foundation of the world, for He chose us in Him (Ephesians 1:5) and once in Christ we are blessed with the grace granted to everyone "in Christ" before the foundation of the world when God graciously chose Christ as the Redeemer, the Lamb of God.

Hebrews 1:14 refers to Christ and His angels, not unbelievers.

The work of the Holy Spirit through various instruments, convicts us of sin.

After God credits our faith in Christ as righteousness, The Holy Spirit places us spiritually in Christ, Ephesians 1:13, and then we are sealed "in Christ" forever.

I see That Van persists in flaming, telling lies, and denigrating not only me, but all Reformed Believers.

If I have offended anyone else in these forums (not counting Van), I humbly apologize for not being more articulate in posting my views. Unlike Van's false charges against me, I did not imply that all Muslims are beyond God's grace. I was not even talking about Muslims in particular, even though the post before the post I responded to did mention Muslims. I did not see that reference , or I would have more clearly defined what I was, and wasn't, talking about. But Van sees that as an opportunity to damn me. Calling my views ungodly, and Reformed theology to be ungodly is clearly over the line, and should result in consequences, especially since he is pushing those charges even more.

Folks, I have been accused of all manner of evil, falsely, for no other reason that I refuse to be cowed into submission to Van's version of reality. Because I withstand him, where I, in good conscience, believe he is wrong, I am subjected to personal attacks on my character, my beliefs, and my very standing before God (calling someone ungodly is tantamount to calling them unsaved), ridicule, and all manner of false charges against me. Where he claims that the same has been done to him, very oftem he brought it on himself by flaming, belittling, ridiculing, and disrespecting those who question his conclusions, interpretations, and unorthodox views. He shows a special hatred for Reformed Theology, and avails himself of any perceived opportunity to hurl invectives, perjoratives, and other abuse on not only Reformed Theology, but those who, in good conscience,. accept its teachings. He insists that his opinion must prevail in any discussion where Reformed Theology is mentioned, and tries to counter any and all defense against his unwarranted and vindictive attacks.

These are not empty charges, each one of them is supported by voluminous evidence, within this forum, on nearly every thread, and in all threads where Van posts in this forum. The readers and moderators can see for themselves, and judge for themselves whether I am making false charges, or whether I tell the truth.

Again, to all readers ( except Van), I offer my apologies if I have offended, and ask forgiveness.

To Van, I offer no apology, for I have not done anything other than defend myself against false, hurtful, and maliciously sinful charges leveled against me. At this point, his apology would not undo the damage done, unless accompanied by true contrition, and humility, which I am not hopeful of ever seeing. The damage has been done, and healing can only take place when guilt is admitted, and contrite and sincere apology is made, and accepted.

Hi BIC, Romans 7 is before salvation.
then why is salvation talked about in romans 4?
Why do people reject Christ?
example in act 13:46-48

the unbeliever free denies eternal life.. free will which all men do.. john 3:19

romans 1:16 it is the power of God unto salvation

Jesus died for the whole world, including Muslims. Jesus said for us to go to all nations making disciples, teaching them to obey all that Jesus commanded. That is the gospel of Christ.

yet not all believe ... thus they are still in there sins ... john 8:24

It is a flashback
when were they offered salvation
When they were exposed to the gospel of Christ!

Why do men reject Christ? Lets look at Acts 13:46. Does it give a reason? Nope, it just says the Jews rejected the gospel. But if you back up one verse, they were filled with jealousy and were blaspheming. Sounds like all roads lead to pride.

That is right BIC, many are called, but not all believe -embrace the truth - and therefore only those few are chosen.

all men denies... salvation ... john 3:19

why God the Father did not direct the Holy Spirit to convict them to value the gospel as a need for them!
for the light to shine thru darkness... john 1:5 the Holy Spirit needs to clear the way to one brain! 2 cor 4:3-6, mk 4:9-12

thus

romans 1:16 ... for it is the power of God unto salvation

God gives the credit either way... but scripture is very clear....

2 tim 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began

The idea of John 3:19 is everyone has pride and therefore hates the light because they do not want their evil deeds exposed. But if we humble ourselves and seek the light, God will forgive our evil deeds. So pride, and unwillingness to submit to God undergirds our rejection.

John 1:5 is often mistranslated to read the darkness did not comprehend the light, but that is completely wrong. What the verse says if the light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not overcome it. The Greek word (katalambano) means "to take down" so "overcome" is a sound translation. Light overcomes darkness.

So since the gospel is the power to salvation...

when a person give the gospel this is a degree of light ..

when they deny the gospel they are freely chosing to stay in darkness ... why 2 cor 4:3-6

the Holy Spirit is not kick satan to the curb!

Hi Seekingpurity047, everyone hates the light because they do not want their evil exposed. So if they are drawn toward the light because they want the righteousness of God more than they want to hide their evil deeds, then they can repent and receive Him, the light of the world.

And this decision to repent can be sudden or it can take a long time, not everyone responds to the gospel initially, that is why we have the ministry of reconciliation, to cultivate, to plant and to water.
