I picked the username Promise because it reminds me that God keeps His word. Being a new christian it has been hard for me to trust and depend on God because I had been let down in my childhood so many times. The Lord has given me several personal promises for my life and has kept His word. So whenever I have doubt about how my life is going, I just remember all the promises He has given me in the bible and hold them in my heart, so I don't grow weary because I know now that He is the one peson I can trust and depend on. He keeps His promises!!!!

It's kinda a long story, but I will type fast

**takes a big deep breath** O.k., in my youth group, I have this one boy, named Will who is just really a funny and intelectual type of kid and he is always making up nicknames for us. Well, my name is really Veronica and one day he called me Vrunca and I stopped in my tracks and was shocked, so I asked him why he called me that, (because there is ussually some hidden reason for his nicknames for us) and he just replied that he tried to say Veronica and it just came out Vrunca, nothing hidden in the reasoning. Well, the reason it shocked me is because I have a 94 year old aunt who came from Poland and even though she has lived in the States for like 90 of those years still talks with a very deep Polish accent and she could never say the word Veronica and didn't want to call me Veronica in Polish, so she has always called me Vrunca. Which I never really told anyone before, because I felt it kinda was mocking my sweet little Aunt. So I finally asked her one day, like maybe five years ago, why she chose to call me Vrunca instead of calling me Veronica in Polish (which I don't even know what Veronica in Polish is!) and she told me that she didn't want me to be ashamed in front of my friends, which really broke my heart . So I told her that I am proud of her as my Aunt and I am proud of my heritage as well, and I told her this kind of sternlly, because I was kinda upset that she would say anything like that. Well, anyway...she kinda giggled a little then went on to tell me not to be upset that she knew that I love her very much and my heritage as well and that she really loves her Polish heritage also, but she has always called me Vrunca and that the only reason she wouldn't call me Veronica in Polish now is that she couldn't remember how to say it! So, Vrunca it is, and she felt honored that the youth group called me that also, so it really stuck...because at first I told them not to call me that so as not to feel that I was mocking her! I told you it was a long story and really only if you all knew my Aunt would you realize how sweet and funny this story is...but it is my story and I'm sticking to it .

Oh and if any of my Polish friends on this thread happens to know how to say Veronica in Polish, would you let me know? Thanks!!

In my German class you had to pick a "German name", and Inge was the one I picked. It has a nice ring to it. Plus, it's a lot shorter than my (very common) first name, or my (even more common) last name. '87 is my birthyear.

Well when I was 7 my brother was born. When he started talking he had a bit of a lisp. My parents always refered to me as "sissy". Well because of his lisp he couldn't pronounce s's. So I became Thithy. Then so many people thought my friend Adam and I were brother and sister ( I think because we like to bicker) that he started calling me thithy as a joke. And so it's stuck, and that's how I got my user name.

traingosorry is a deaf term, it has its own sign. It means that something was ' over your head' or 'you are too slow to get it' - so slow, the train left the station!!!
There,.....now you know something about deaf that not alot of people can say they know!!
