Hi i visited all the churches in my area and frankly no one really talked to me other than hello. I prob was a bit scary to approach but when a salvo reached out to me and i went over to redcliffe corps i was loved into the fold just as broken as i am people immediately prayered for me and i began to build some solid relationships. I have continued to check out oter churches but it doesnt seem to matter where in the country i go i know if i go to an SA corp i am welcomed with loving arms

When I first attended our home Corps I was scared away for a few weeks by the unconditional love shown as opposed to the stony unwelcome eyes of the frozen chosen of the church of my youth.

Fortunatley I found that the unconditional love of my home corps was real.

I have since come out of retirement and pastor a Salvation Army Corps.

After I was in the Adult Rehabilitation Center [A.R.C.] In Pittsburgh, PA. And after praying about what God's will for me was, I told the Major, I wanted to make the Salvation Army my life, That was 6 years ago. I am still at the A.R.C. as a resident employee. I became a soldier a year and a half ago. and it has been a wonderful journey so far.

I am not sure where to post this, but I have often thought of joining the Salvation Army, as we met some wonderful people who were Salvationists. They were both Officers, a married couple. We met them on holiday and we became firm friends. We were Methodists at the time. That is many years ago, and the wife has since died, I am told. We have always always respected the Salvation Army so much.

From reading in this forum I have discovered (at least I think I have) that the Army is changing and like many denominations, becoming more 'modern'? Is that right? I keep saying I will go to our local Corps but have not got msyelf there yet. I really do want to go though.

Thankyou, Salvation Army, for being there and for being wonderful people - God bless you.
