  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yup! We actually just met up this afternoon! Went for Greek food on Commerical Drive in Vancouver. He's a great guy!
Haha I'm sure he is! You gotta snap a picture of him one day and beam it across the net to all of us

vancouver i prolly couldnt get to..... something actually "central" bc and doable for me would be more like prince george..... a 7 hour drive in good weather but aloot cheaper than a $500+ plane ticket - one way - to van... so i'm prolly out

I am sorry Lynne

Hey Blue...watch what you say about Surrey!! ( actually say all you want, I am no better at saying good and positive things about this city in which i live, either!) It used to be a great place here - I remember the good ol' days.

lol!! I know you mean no harm!!
Actually I am the same way as you - the area I am in has a great effect on me but I think the reason why I can still be here is because I have lived here all my life, I have awesome memories and I can still find the good in it. Sometimes it helps to go right to the root of the problem- in mycase, Whalley the roughest area, and meet the people. Then you see they are people and they are in a rut they don't want to be in, but dont have the resources nor the strength to get out of.
Some parts of Surrey are pretty ugly, and drab does not help the spirit. But I am living in a nice part, in a beautiful home that overlooks New Westminster, Burnaby and the Fraser River.
Being that fortunate helps me go to Whalley.

How is your area in East Van?
