He's also actually from Appalachia - unlike Vance, who just pretends he is.I don't think they could flip Kentucky, but Beshear could exhibit a degree of normalcy to the ticket - a contrast to the lunacy of California government. That may get a never Trump vote or two.
Well, not too far back, but Democrats from the 1970s-2013 era, same with the Republicans from the 1970s-2013 era. And yes, I am 24, but will be 25 this fall, you were only off by a few months. Hey, young people can pine for the past as well. And yes, the right lean into a different flavor of identity politics as well, such as fundamental Christian identities, which is overkill as well. When was that? When Democrats were the southern, pro-segregation racists? When they were the war-protesting feminists? When they were the pro-environment, pro-civil rights leftists? When they were pushing the labels that became described as "hyphenated Americans"?
lol wut? 2009-2013? Seriously? How old are you? 25?
haha, I just checked your profile. Amazing.
Conservatives have been complaining about Dems pushing "identity politics" since before you were born. In reality, "all politics is identity politics." The Right leans into identity politics just as much as the left; they're just better at couching it in terms that don't make it quite so obvious.
You’re welcome to pine for the past, but if you think identity politics wasn’t much of a thing prior to the second W administration… lol.Well, not too far back, but Democrats from the 1970s-2013 era, same with the Republicans from the 1970s-2013 era. We need Peter Sonski, cos he seems level headed.
Oh wait, the Bible says it is bad to pine on the past, but I do anyway. Something I need to work on between God and myself, and also go to confession for.
Ecclesiastes 7:10 (NIV): "Do not say, ‘Why were the old days better than these?’ For it is not wise to ask such questions."
I disagree. I'd say the right has been more into "policy politics" for the most part. Yes, there is a racism streak running through it, but a lot of minority groups have moved in and out of the Right over the decades mostly because of policy rather than identity. If Republicans could manage to contain their racist attitudes and maintain their policies, they'd have most minority voters in hand. They'd even pick up a good proportion of black voters. The problem is that if you sit among Republicans long enough, the racism of too many of them leaks out.Conservatives have been complaining about Dems pushing "identity politics" since before you were born. At least the trans stuff was not that big back then, which is why I like the past better than the present. George W. Bush was OK, but his oil stuff and the Iraq war was messed up.You’re welcome to pine for the past, but if you think identity politics wasn’t much of a thing prior to the second W administration… lol.
No, because if something happened to her, then we'd be back at square one. I'd lay odds that the COVID hit Biden harder than expected and with the potential for long-term damage.Could Harris pick Joe Biden to be her VP? Those two simply trading places would make for the least change, and Joe could be right there to help here out.
She will hit 35 on October 13, 2024. She is basically 10 years older than myself, and looks beautiful. Though, I am not sure if I agree with her policies. Peter Sonski is much better (pro-life, pro-environment, cheaper healthcare, non-woke) but my bro @Hans Blaster is a realist, and does not think Sonski is qualified. But, Sonski is a Christian man with good ethics. Far better than Joe, Kamala or Trump. We'd have to wait a month or so before that would even be on the table. AOC hasn't hit 35 yet.
Though it's not exactly a qualification (see Palin, Sarah), AOC is mighty easy on the eyes. She will hit 35 on October 13, 2024. She is basically 10 years older than myself, and looks beautiful. Yeah, she is.Though it's not exactly a qualification (see Palin, Sarah), AOC is mighty easy on the eyes.
Good bet. They're just not telling us.No, because if something happened to her, then we'd be back at square one. I'd lay odds that the COVID hit Biden harder than expected and with the potential for long-term damage.
I always forget there’s a Tiffany.Tiffany Trump.
Same here. Wonder if she is any different from the others in the Trump family. I know Mary Trump is different, and I like her.I always forget there’s a Tiffany.
No one is privy to the machinations taking place. Few expected the current issue but here we are.

I don't know who is running the Biden campaign, but I can say it's bizarre to watch them hammer down on something that hasn't been working for the past 3.25 years. Painting Trump as a criminal hasn't been successful so far....and that appears to be the general strategy going into what would typically be the height of the campaign season.
Honestly, what do you see happening if Trump wins reelection? You think Letitia James and Fani Willis won't be facing any investigations? Unless...
1. Things turn significantly in Biden's favor by late August.
Or...
2. The CIA is planning Kennedy 2.0.
I expect to see a lot of folks resigning and/or fleeing from both sides of the aisle.
Yes. Im sort of assuming she'll end up top of ticket. But I dont know this and the whole process probly deserves its own thread.
He's also not a Democrat. The Democrats aren't going to put a non-Democrat on their ticket in either slot. She will hit 35 on October 13, 2024. Trump is very divisive and has a chaotic energy *snip*

He positions himself as anti-globalist and the 2025 agenda mirrors that position. But that only occurred when he entered politics. Before that he was chummy with them. He was the first sitting president to attend WEF in 18 years in 2018 and returned in 2020. Either you believe him or you don't.
We'll know more in August once the nominee is settled and speculations won't be as hit or miss.
I would suggest that you could take any ex-Republican/Democratic president...put them through 7 years of investigations and get the same results.
It's now considered acceptable to go after political opponents for crimes to win elections...
That's the new standard.
I'm not sure what you mean by "anti-globalist" in this context.
Let's put it this way....any nominee other than Harris and roughly 90 million plus may have to be returned to donors. They donated to a Biden/Harris campaign. Biden is gone...if Harris goes too, that money can be demanded back.
Besides it's almost August....that's about 3 months and two weeks to run a new campaign. Who is dumb enough to do that?
