They've changed a bunch since then. The DNC has gone even farther left.Biden 2020 disproves that. Unless you think theyve changed a bunch since then. He was the most centrist of all the options and rode on the premise of "electability", which worked.
I was being serious. I was just throwing out an idea that might work. I didn't see anything that would prevent Joe Biden from being a vice president. He's the one who is currently president, and is already working alongside Kamala Harris, so it seems to make sense that keeping them together could be a good idea. Politically, it's best not to shake things up too much when so close to an election. It's less than 4 months away, and a current president who was democratically elected by the people during the primaries to be their choice suddenly being replaced with only about 3.5 months to go is quite a shake-up.Aldebaran, my intent was for this to be a serious thread.
They fast track re-annointed Biden this year. So....?They've changed a bunch since then. The DNC has gone even farther left.
They voted in the primary, and they voted for Biden. Looks like the voters won't be getting the person they elected after all.Doesn't the party have to have a vote on it first. I don't believe he can just give her the spot.
Thats what happens when the elected person chooses to drops out, dies, falls into a coma, etc. They voted in the primary, and they voted for Biden. Looks like the voters won't be getting the person they elected after all.
He was easily controlled. They fast track re-annointed Biden this year. So....?
That is the only job the VP actually has, other than as backup QB.But she's not well-known as having done the stand-out job that she is expected to have been done well.
I listened to a Harris promoter a couple of days ago, whose only example of what Harris has done as VP is that she has been present for every Senate vote...her attendance record is perfect.
Which is why VPs are are often given something off the president's plate to "show what they can do." Harris was originally given the immigration problem...but that proved too difficult for her, apparently. Since then, it appears she's only been allowed to push DEI.That is the only job the VP actually has, other than as backup QB.
Could Harris pick Joe Biden to be her VP? Those two simply trading places would make for the least change, and Joe could be right there to help here out.
And Hillary had her hand in the bowl a lot more as first lady than most first ladies had ever had (which had annoyed the heck out of me from where I was sitting at the time).
The flip side of that is that you do not want her in that postion just because she is a female of color ( I am not calling her black because she is mixed). ) If you want to win and particularly if you want to win people from the center right you may not want to pick someone just because of their race and/or gender. Particularly sense a lot of people ( less now than there used to be certainly but still some people would not want to vote for a woman (of color or otherwise) for president just due to how certain areas of the world still see women even if they would vote for a woman in any number of other roles. It’s going to anger a lot of the base if a black female (especially the 1st black female VP) is replaced
Why do you think she was chosen as VP? “Undecided “ got more votes in the primaries than she did.The flip side of that is that you do not want her in that postion just because she is a female of color ( I am not calling her black because she is mixed). ) If you want to win and particularly if you want to win people from the center right you may not want to pick someone just because of their race and/or gender. People generally do not vote for the VP though. Some people might, but in general when the VP is chosen the idea is not that they will have to take over the office (though they should be suitable for the job)Why do you think she was chosen as VP? “Undecided “ got more votes in the primaries than she did.
She's got her sorors fooled, but a lot of other black women take note that Harris isn't "African-American" and that her background makes her just as likely to be anti-African-American behind closed doors. The black vote is decidedly split on Harris. It won't make them vote Republican, but it's likely to make a lot of them stay home. The flip side of that is that you do not want her in that postion just because she is a female of color ( I am not calling her black because she is mixed). ) If you want to win and particularly if you want to win people from the center right you may not want to pick someone just because of their race and/or gender. The idea was that a person of color who was also female was put on the ticket because the nominee was an old, white man.People generally do not vote for the VP though. I deleted that post because the clip had profanity in it. You don’t know who Judge Joe Brown is?Who the heck is Judge Joe Brown, and what's his evidence that she [slept] her way to the top?
I'll allow that the experience of someone with a Jamaican father may be different from the experience of someone with ancestry from the American South.
No, why would we know some random judge?I deleted that post because the clip had profanity in it. You don’t know who Judge Joe Brown is?
