Yes, except I should have added might bring along a swing state, which for the pres KY is not - with Trump on the ballot.Andy Beshears KY governor
Maybe, but from what I recall, he seemed to do pretty well in the midwest since he had more of a “favorite nephew” vibe where being gay was just a part of his identity rather than something he played up.Would be great once in the job. But no way will the party push any other boundaries right now beyond a woman pres.
Aldebaran, my intent was for this to be a serious thread.Could Harris pick Joe Biden to be her VP? Those two simply trading places would make for the least change, and Joe could be right there to help here out.
Mayor Pete wont happen for sure.Apply to post #44 as well
Yes. Im sort of assuming she'll end up top of ticket. But I dont know this and the whole process probly deserves its own thread.Doesn't the party have to have a vote on it first. I don't believe he can just give her the spot.
Maybe it should. Show the Nation (and the world) that America is a progressive nation for everyone.Would be great once in the job. But no way will the party push any other boundaries right now beyond a woman pres.
It would likely show the opposite - by losing.Maybe it should. Show the Nation (and the world) that America is a progressive nation for everyone.
Can we narrow it down to male or female?
Gay or straight? We can not be so sure it is one or the other in this political climate.Certainly the choice will be one of those two.
It sure was. And it showed in his constantly promoting the most cockamamie unconstitutional ideas to his (conservative) cabinet which theyd have to gently shoot down over and over.Wasn't it for Trump?
But she's not well-known as having done the stand-out job that she is expected to have been done well.Biden's story is similar. Remember the 1988 primary? It was a primary season with lots of candidates (as was the case in 2020). Biden was one of many candidates, but he withdrew early. In a later decade, after he was more well known, Biden succeeded in being elected. Harris is similarly more well known than she was in 2020.
Biden 2020 disproves that. Unless you think theyve changed a bunch since then. He was the most centrist of all the options and rode on the premise of "electability", which worked.....Nor do I think the DNC is going to let there be a VP candidate to the right of Harris. I think they're going to go as far left as possible because they simply can't think any other way.
And Hillary had her hand in the bowl a lot more as first lady than most first ladies had ever had (which had annoyed the heck out of me from where I was sitting at the time).I would not have voted for Hillary Clinton if her only qualification had been her time as First Lady. By the time she was running for president, she had served as senator and as Secretary of State, a much more substantial resume.
