The answer for me can some days shift but currently I find myself with this deep dark despair and fear like King David. This man was in constant fear for his life but despite all that looked around him, he chose to put his faith in God. The book of psalms is my go to book when I feel I went too far away from God. When I finally snap back into the reality of it all, the only hope I have is in God.

Psalm 40: 1-3
I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.

I too know the feeling of not feeling the Holy Spirit, as if He has gone silent. Those are dark days for me. I wrestle with the idea I did the unpardonable sin but I get dropped in my spirit that if I had done that I wouldn't be so fearful that I lost Him.

That is why King David is who I relate to the most currently. He was a man of war with blood on his hands and despite all that God chose to use him in mighty ways. He became a murderer because he lusted over Uriah's wife, to the point he sent his friend to the front of the battle lines where Uriah was killed. It took Nathan to point out his grievous error.

2 Samuel 12: 1-7

Then the Lord sent Nathan to David. And he came to him, and said to him: “There were two men in one city, one rich and the other poor. 2 The rich man had exceedingly many flocks and herds. 3 But the poor man had nothing, except one little ewe lamb which he had bought and nourished; and it grew up together with him and with his children. It ate of his own food and drank from his own cup and lay in his bosom; and it was like a daughter to him. 4 And a traveler came to the rich man, who refused to take from his own flock and from his own herd to prepare one for the wayfaring man who had come to him; but he took the poor man’s lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.”

5 So David’s anger was greatly aroused against the man, and he said to Nathan, “As the Lord lives, the man who has done this [a]shall surely die! 6 And he shall restore fourfold for the lamb, because he did this thing and because he had no pity.”

7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man!

Talk about being completely gutted, David was horrified. Of course the Lord punished him for his sin but the Lord said he spared his life. What great tender mercy our God has, it's hard to fathom sometimes just how deep of love our Maker has for us.

I relate to David because I often feel I've crossed one too many lines and have been separated from Him and that's the most desolate feeling I've ever known. Yet somehow He shows up to comfort me just like He can comfort any of you.

God Bless and thank you for reading.

The verse from Psalm 91 that comes with the picture doesn't say that each believer has their own angel, or that angels have wings. I think of biblical appearances of angels. When angels appeared to Abraham, he thought they were men. That is what Hebrews refers to when it says:

“Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” (Heb 13:2 NKJV)

Abraham could not have unwittingly entertained angels if they were marked out by the huge wings on their backs! And think of Gabriel's appearance to Mary. We read:

“But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was.” (Lu 1:29 NKJV)

It doesn't say, “But when she saw him, she was troubled at his appearance."

Leah. I feel that I am married to a man that doesn't love or want me. I feel that no matter what I do he will always choose porn and women on the Internet over me. He chooses his selfish pleasure over me. I feel I am like Leah, he never wanted me and he is regretful that he is with me. At least Leah was able to negotiate for him to be in her bed chambers sometimes. I have no one to negotiate with. He just chooses the other women. Who is there of rme to negotiate with Satan? I'll pass on negotiations with Satan.

Dear Elephants are Majestic,

I can feel the pain and hurt in your words. Many people get sucked into the path of self-stlimulation. Alcohol, drugs, and porn are only some of the ways people can live in the flesh. Paul call Christians who do not get past this level "babes".

1Co 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

I do not know if there is a 12 step program similar to Aanon (the self-help group for family members of alcoholics) for porn, but you might find a Alanon group that would be a helpful in general The pain you feel is sadly not uncommon.

Indeed. I do my best to be faithful to Christ.

Jesus.

He often had little patience, was saucy at times, seemed exasperated by people not grasping concepts and wept for humanity.
When did Jesus "often have little patience?" When was He ever "saucy"?

Several or many times Jesus scolded (or worse) His Own Disciples for their lack of faith/ lack of trust.

How Long must I put up with you disciples !?

But that is not a lack of patience. We are taught in the bible that Jesus never sinned, and impatience is a sin, so He cannot have been impatient.

Using words and definitions of words to placate or change any meaning from ABBA , revealed in Scripture, is not good.

There is a time for patience, and time to be impatient, a time to care, and a time to give up caring,
a time to love , and a time to hate.... how long must anyone now put up with false gospel teachings around the world and plaguing the internet/ families/ churches/ schools/ etc ? Nothing presently allows stopping the ones who bring a false gospel (that harms, hurts, and destroys souls).

Sorry, ABBA as in Father? I certainly was not using words and definitions to change anything. Scripture is clear when it says that Jesus was without sin.

I don't know if my terminology is lacking then, with regards to referencing the words and actions of Jesus towards his disciples e.g. as one kind poster mentioned above, and the man who asked Jesus about his inheritance, which Jesus stated was inappropriate since He was teaching about something entirely unrelated and other examples I had in my head when I made the statement.

I'm not sure that I knew impatience itself was a sin. I thought the potential behavior, as a result of impatience, could be a sin.

Of course, I know that Jesus never sinned and would not knowingly suggest otherwise!
