... and, then there is off in the ditch!

What's next? In providing air to breath, He is providing opportunity to get to much oxygen er somethin?

You have proved that your arguments are logically flaccid, have a good day.

Ignoring instruction found in God's Word on things like this is dangerous... but, if you think drinking alcohol is "common sense", then drink up

It's not like anybody is forcing you to not do what thou wilt...

Yes, I will have a good day! Every passing day is one step closer to being literally in the Kingdom of God... where they don't get intoxicated.

To answer the op, here's where I draw the line:

I was raised in a missionary family that believed drinking is a sin, and never had a drop of alcohol growing up. I made it through my childhood never having a drink, smoke, or taking any illegal drugs. This lasted only for a few short years till someone sprang communion on me at their home and served real wine.

Over the years, I only partook of wine during communion a few times. But then I realized my abstinence was a source of pride, so I bought a few wine coolers and brought them home. I also tried a cheap bottle of wine every now and again. I remember my mother opening my fridge and seeing wine in there. I don't know if she said anything or just gave me a look. But I think the process did the trick and the religious spirit of pride left.

After that I went through a couple years of Messianic Judaism, where we always had a bottle of Manichevitz on hand. Mostly now we never keep alcohol in the house, or drink it for any occasion. I honestly can't remember the last time I had some. I can't even guess how many years it has been.

I did have my first beer at a company party several years ago. I realized that "I've never had a beer" was lingering as a source of spiritual pride, so when they served Heinekens I thought it might be worth trying a nice German beer. Turns out they are made in Belgium or something (when I read the label.) <disappointed>

So anyway, that's where I draw the line. If your not drinking is a source of pride in your life, then by all means take a drink!

I'm wondering if writing this post is another attempt at pride trying to take root in my heart, but idk, I've messed up in other areas to the point that this one might not be a stumbling block to myself anymore. And since I've already typed it out, I think I'll just hit send...

OK, please... hop in yo time machine, and go back to the wedding feast Jesus Christ was at changing water in to "wine"... grab you a sample, and zip back to modern day times so this sample can be tested in a lab.

If you read the passage there is a clue:

10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

(John 2:10)

Usually the cheaper wine was brought out after everyone had had too much to drink and were too tipsy to notice the difference. But the wine Jesus made supernaturally was the best.

This has nothing to do with proving Jesus made fermented grape juice, or not

Yeah, the devil will say anything... to get ya to drink some booze!

After all, it's so fashionable these days among seeker sensitive,
extreme-grace, osas Christians, right?

The spirit of pride will go to great lengths too, to keep you holding on to your own sense of accomplishment and achievement in staying "dry".

You don't have to go around bragging about how long it has been since you've had your last drink. But if it's something you keep in your heart, if it's something that fuels your confidence in your own ability to have a relationship with God, then it is trusting works rather than the grace of God.

Repent!

Repent for not committing sin???
That's satan's idea of repenting... away from light, turning to darkness

Anything that tries to get you to put poison in your body is not the leading of the Lord as this is damaging to the body... been proven by medical science.

Go google what medical science has found over the years concerning how alcohol damages the body... based on this alone, drinkin booze is a sin, especially when one takes in to account all the warnings in God's Word concerning strong drink!

But pride is a sin. Some might even say that it is the original sin that got Lucifer cast out of heaven!

Why are you trying to tell me that pride is not a sin?

The state of drunkenness is prohibited. I'm ok with anything up to that, except where I'm in the company of some I know or think might be opposed to the consumption of alcohol. For their sake I won't drink around them.

Jesus cooked over a coal fire (John 21:9). That's not exactly healthy.

Just because the wine was actual wine it doesn't mean He caused anyone to get drunk. If someone got drunk, that's on them. I don't even see where it states they got drunk off His wine. I think you added that in there.

Jesus, Paul, and Timothy sipped, show me where it is sin to sip, in fact, i showed you not to judge those who do, as per Col 2:16, and I showed you where God told them to buy strong drink..

gimmie text that shows it is sin to sip....
