I don't know much about US education so I'll have to improvise.
Suppose the object is to teach the basics of thermodynamics. Teacher is thinking thermal solar power station, mentions heat to motion as the topic, the class votes for the Titanic's propulsion system, everyone has more fun and a chance of actually remembering some of it.
Brings to mind the scene in Blues Brothers with the sister swatting Belushi and Akroyd. Can’t link due to language. What on earth are you talking about.
The teacher leads the class and teaches the subject. The students don’t.
And whose democracy are you addressing if not America?
This is true on a lot of forums, you know ?We learn it in the schools, where the teacher is in charge and any child who disagrees is wrong and at risk of being punished
I was looking for democracy in the USA and found the democracy of free choice.
I have a huge choice over where I shop both in stores and on-line. I can buy things made in China from any of those places.
