Fire... have you ever thought about it? Where did it come from? You see in the bible how they had fire take the sacrifices. But did you ever wonder bout how they got the fire?

Elijah made a sacrifice and Fire consumed it. Able made sacrifice and it was accepted. The bush burned on the mount next to moses. And on penticost they were babtised by fire.

Isaiah had his lips touched by the burning coal on the alter. What set the fire to burn it?

God IS a consuming fire! Isaiah was touched by the fire of God. It burned his sins away, it caused his lips to burn with the same fire shut up in jeremiahs bones. The fire was a light to the world and gave warmth in the cold night.

It occured to me where the fire came from. You see...there is a fire that is not of God. It looks like it, and may even feel like it. But it has no power to burn sins away and cause us to be consumed until we are left pure. This is having a form of godliness and dening the power.

But the true fire comes only from God. And it comes only when we offer an acceptable sacrifice in faith. If we are to burn with Gods fire we must offer our own bodies a living sacrifice to God.

We bow before God. We offer the sacrifice of praise. And God inhabits our praise as a fire.

We need the fire of God.
