Shalom All,

There are specific instruction about what to do, "...when you come into the land." There are instruction that preceded those that are to be kept immediately upon hearing them.

The purpose of this thread is to identify those commands that Israel was to start keeping, "...when you come into the land." So please post scriptures that you think relevant. I'll start this little exercise with this:
Deuteronomy 18:9-14 (Complete Jewish Bible)
9 "When you enter the land ADONAI your God is giving you, you are not to learn how to follow the abominable practices of those nations.
10 There must not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through fire, a diviner, a soothsayer, an enchanter, a sorcerer,
11 a spell-caster, a consulter of ghosts or spirits, or a necromancer.
12 For whoever does these things is detestable to ADONAI, and because of these abominations ADONAI your God is driving them out ahead of you.
13 You must be wholehearted with ADONAI your God.
14 For these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to soothsayers and diviners; but you, ADONAI your God does not allow you to do this.

Shabbat Shalom Phillip,
What nations do you suppose are intended by "those nations" in the passage you have quoted? If one knows the names he or she can search the Scriptures to find the various contexts in which they appear. I have found that each nation-heathen group seems to have its own set of attributes. For instance the Jebusites hid behind the blind and the lame thinking that David would not come up and take the stronghold. Those particular types of blind and lame were stated to be hated of David's soul, (2 Samuel 5:6-8). Likewise aren't there also some devils causing blindness in the Gospel accounts?

Edit:

Deuteronomy 6:10-19 KJV

10. And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
11. And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
12. Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
13. Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
14. Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
15. (For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
16. Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
17. Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
18. And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers.
19. To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the Lord hath spoken.

Deuteronomy 7:1-5 KJV
1. When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
2. And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
3. Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
4. For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
5. But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

We are the temple of God and when we find ourselves unclean we seek our High Priest Yeshua and tell Him about the plague that is bothering us and our home. The procedure mentioned here reminds me of the house cleaning parable that the Lord talked about. In the story, there were unclean spirit and they were cast out of the home, and the home was left empty. Now it doesn't say seven days, but rather the parable talks about the seven unclean spirit who come and find the house empty. When it says unclean place without the city, my mind goes to Gehanna, the place for the dead, the garbage dump outside Jerusalem. It could even be the place where lepers live.

Interesting thing about plaster, in this situation, it is covering a multitude of sins. As with our sins in our life, Yeshua covers them, and if we do not feed them they will not live to reign again. So it is here in this service, the inspection comes to see if unclean still dwells. There is a sin which is not forgiven it is called blasphemy. Sin is the plague of the spiritual world. It is the blight that can tear at the very fabric of our physical world, our emotional, our mental, our families, and our country.

There is another place that many have wondered about, and that is that the parents must kill their rebellious children if they can not get them to be obedient. We today think it is harsh and laws prevent us from seeing if that would be a cure for our children today. Job lost all his children one day while they were off celebrating a birthday. He didn't go but stayed home and prayed for them. He lost them all.

There are other cases of God's way of handling things, and what we do today. I know that I do not want to be extreme like Islam is to its people and neighbors. But the sins of the whole world are overwhelming and more and more people are surrendering the world that scripture tells of for the world that is offered justifying themselves it isn't that bad, even with the overwhelming evidence shown in nature, violence of man against man, evil continually with impunity. But if in obedience to His word He does all that is required to wash, cleanse himself of unrighteousness, so that when Yeshua comes to him, and checks out the temple of God, which he is, and pronounces it clean. Yeshua wlll take it the step further and cleanse it beyond that which we are able.

Interesting that you bring up Leviticus 14 and the cleansing of lepers. Have you ever noticed that the flying megillah-scroll of Zechariah 5, (which is written on both sides) is prophesied to be brought forth, go into the house of the man, and remain in the midst of his house until it consumes the house with the timber and the stones thereof? Sounds much like the passage you have quoted from. Likewise the scroll in the Revelation of Yeshua is also written within and without, (and the heavens are parted like a scroll being coiled when the sixth seal is opened). What kind of flying megillah scroll could heal a man if he eat all of it and leave nothing till the morning come? I suppose it would be sweet as honey in the mouth but make his belly bitter.

The Most High had me read that 100 times over and over again 8 years ago about 200 times over a 6 month period.

It sounds strange I know.

If I could only openly share my early 20 to 23 year old experience before
His Revelation and "born again" encounter.

Bless You for rekindling this Excellent portion of Torah. Not that any
is not.

But when He takes you to school, and has you read, and reread something
over a prolonged season, it reflects the importance and or
inability of the student to grasp I believe.

I am reluctant to share after a WONDERFUL Great Shabbat / Torah
Service we just had tonight, and the After-Glow I walk in of
His Presence, Annotating, and my personal healing tonight
in our Shabbat / Torah Service.

I was simply looking to compile a list of mitzvot. The ones related to, "When you come into the land." ...as opposed to those that were not so ordered; such as the Shabbat, which was to be observed even before they came to Mt Sinai, as stated in Exodus 16.

Shabbat Shalom,
Phillip

Ah but brother in Yeshua..............

I have always wrestled with all of that and When You come into the Land
had, and has jumped off the pages for me.

I do not have a revelation on that, but is it not interesting that those Eternal
Words have me mull, ponder, and question also?

Shalom Yosef, thank you for sharing.

Oh, I see, great idea!

Exodus 12:40 ~ 13:7 KJV
40. Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
41. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
42. It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
43. And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
44. But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
45. A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.
46. In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
47. All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
48. And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
49. One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
50. Thus did all the children of Israel; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
51. And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
1. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2. Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
3. And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
4. This day came ye out in the month Abib.
5. And it shall be when the Lord shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
6. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the Lord.
7. Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

Would Leviticus 19:23 fit your rubric? "'When you enter the land and plant various kinds of fruit trees, you are to regard its fruit as forbidden - for three years it will be forbidden to you and not eaten"

That one seems to have a built-in expiration date! Not only does it come into effect only upon entering the Land, but come year four, the sunset clause kicks in and the restriction is no longer in effect. Pretty clever--self-modifying eternal code!

Really cool, that. I expect our resident numerologists will have fun with this one! You can imagine it... what significant thing happened in year 4 that you could eat the fruit?

Isn’t Lev 14:35-45 just as relevant in its own way today. Any “green streaks and red streaks” are even our own doing and then overlooked due to cool shades of color-blindness.

Being a responsible parent in an American culture of contemporary tolerance can at times seem like Mission Impossible.

Shabbat Shalom

Then I pray that this exercise blesses you; for sometimes the revelation is simply to study, that in the end you might know and act according to what you have learned.

Come, let us all wrestle with this together - like brothers!

Could not ask for better help than you two, to keep the discussion on point. Perhaps I should have put a p'shot requirement in the OP. ...and a thousand day restriction on numerology!

Only as it applies to the Levitical priesthood, dear. So, you tell me, were these instructions to be applied before or after they came into the land? Think carefully, this is a trick question.

Btw, my condolences on the parenting conundrum. We have 5 kids, 15 grandkids and 1 great-grandbaby. No matter how bad you need answers, projecting, equivocating or divination is of no help. Stick with biblical teachings in love and lots of prayer.

Leviticus 20:1-5
Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
20 (LY: v) Adonai said to Moshe, 2 “Say to the people of Isra’el, ‘If someone from the people of Isra’el or one of the foreigners living in Isra’el sacrifices one of his children to Molekh, he must be put to death; the people of the land are to stone him to death. 3 I too will set myself against him and cut him off from his people, because he has sacrificed his child to Molekh, defiling my sanctuary and profaning my holy name. 4 If the people of the land look the other way when that man sacrifices his child to Molekh and fail to put him to death, 5 then I will set myself against him, his family and everyone who follows him to go fornicating after Molekh, and cut them off from their people.

Well it does say "living in Israel", so it's a good find. However, I think it safe to say that those living outside of Israel incur the wrath of God for doing the same thing. So this might apply as it regards 'stoning' and cutting them off from the congregation. What do you think?

This one doesn't read, "when you come into the land" but I think it's for that timeframe?
Lev. 20:1-5.
