  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Happy New Year. If anyone here has those. For some reason all my new years are just old, crappy recycled years in disguise.

My goals for 2004 are to finish my last year at university with good marks, learn to play the harmonica, and this year I do believe I'll hope to get a girlfriend. The first two are nice goals, the last is probably my goal that won't be achieved.

The last time I had a New Years Resolution it was to read 24 books in a year. I remember I read a lot more than that that year. And admittedly it was nice to see that I accomplished that goal.

I don't mean to be supererogatory or officious in my post, But, I guess the real goals I have are life goals and not what I hope to accomplish within the constraints of just one year.
