There are so many movies out there nowadays and with so much junk available to view, what are your favorite movies? Hoping that we could give each other ideas about what to watch and what to avoid like the plague.
With that in mind:

Ben-Hur took a great approach to displaying Jesus' effect on a Jewish family. I can't think of a better "evangelism" movie. It is truely the epic of epics.

The Abyss
Ben Hur
Shawshank Redemption
The Power of One
Fly Away Home
Signs
Bruce Almighty
Finding Nemo (the first few minutes kills me)

Beauty and the Beast
Finding Nemo
The Little Princess
Lord of The Rings Trilogy

I don't have specific reasons why I liked these movies. Maybe some of them teaches good moral values, like friendship, love, acceptance of who you are, etc. But I enjoyed them mostly because they are entertaining to me.

I'd have to say the movie that has impacted my life the most is "Amistad."

That's one of my favorite movies, along with the Star Wars movies and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
