  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What would you do next???

‘Aisha’s tribe in there nomadic wanderings have come across a trading post and went inside to investigate. Taking the opportunity to re-supply and barter with other tribes and races, the tribe gets split up within the post.

‘Aisha notices one of the traders has birds for sale or trade. Many very beautiful birds, and one cage with a tarp over it. Noticing her interest in the birds the man immediately attempts to share bird lore with her. He begins offering her many beautiful birds for trade or sale. ‘Aisha is interested in what’s in the covered cage, the man smiles and shows her that inside is a cockatrice. Its eyes are covered with a hood, but it is easy to see that it has the head of a chicken, the body of a skinny bird with the tail of a lizard, and claws on its wings. The feathers are very colorful. ‘Aisha asks where the bird came from, the man answered “the desert to the west.”

Loosing interest in the birds, ‘Aisha notices she was left behind. She goes outside to see if she can find her tribe. Not seeing them she asks a guard if he has seen any Loxians besides herself leave the post recently. He replies, “Why yes I have, they left an hour ago. They were moving east on the road toward Lorago.”

Knowing that Lorago is three days travel she heads East, on the road to Lorago. Forcing herself to push on through the night she finds no trace of her tribe. 6hours past sunrise she’s still going strong. She meets a man on the road. ‘Aisha asks if he has seen any Loxians heading East on this road. He says, “Why yes I have, they actually left the road last night. I’ll show you where they went.”

Following the man ‘Aisha is hopeful. He takes her to the edge of the woodlands and then moves north off the road. Once over a hill he sees an encampment and takes ‘Aisha to it. Greeting the men there as he did ‘Aisha they invite the two of them to brunch with them.

Eating sparingly in her anxiousness to see her tribe again ‘Aisha waits for the meal to be over. The men surround her as they eat, laughing and joking with each other. She asks one of them if he has seen any Loxians pass through this way, but his response is muffled by his food.

Suddenly three arrows hit three of the men. Then three more as everyone tries to see where they are coming from. The men all take cover behind the wagons but ‘Aisha remains drawing her greatsword. Their attacker continues to fire arrows and moving unseen through the grass seeming to be in all directions. After 10 arrows have been fired, they suddenly stop. The men begin to relax until 2 of them fall unconscious from poison. 4 of them had taken antitoxin. Another hail of arrows flies out from the grasses, and the men immediately take cover inside their wagons. 4 arrows total are fired before the aggressor reveals himself to them. ‘Aisha charges the Pantaar hitting him with a powerful charge. Swinging her sword and striking him as he flees, she saunters back to camp looking for food. The Pantaar climbs a tree and watches the camp while the men remain in their wagons, unwilling to come out with 1 dead and 2 still unconscious.

When all go to sleep ‘Aisha stays up to keep watch. When she gets tired she asks the leader of the men to keep the next watch, he tells her not to worry and to go to sleep. She sets up her tent and goes to sleep. An hour later Shadow creeps into the camp and kills the guard dogs and knocks out each man. Shadow ties them up with rope to each other in single file and manacles on the leader. As Shadow does this, (two of the men had woken up while he was knocking them out) ‘Aisha wakes up and sees him tying them up. She charges and gores the Pantaar, almost killing him. She searches his equipment and uses his healer’s kit to patch him up. While he rests, she searches the rest of his gear and finds an order addressed to “Shadow” that states a reward for the live or dead capture of these men. They are wanted as bandits and murderers. The reward will be 50Gp +10Gp for each additional man. Also the loot that does not go back to the original owners will be split with Shadow.

By dawn the men wake up and the leader asks what happened. ‘Aisha told him about the pantaar and how she almost killed him. The leader then asked when she hadn’t untied them. She said that she wanted to ask him some questions. She asked him who the pantaar was and he said that he was a bandit and a murderer, whom had been tracking them for days. They were going to set a trap for him, but did not expect him so soon.

‘Aisha detected the lie and waited till shadow woke up. When he did he sat still and quiet waiting to see what ‘Aisha did. She told him not to try anything, and asked him who the men were to him. Shadow told her that they were villainous men who when brought in would be served justice, and would provide him with income. Further conversation lead to ‘Aisha believing the pantaar, and not believing the bandits. She offered her help in bringing them in. Shadow accepted silently, as was his usual behavior (silence).

Lining up the wagons and the men, Shadow lead them back toward the road to Lorago.

Upon reaching the city a guard escorts them to the sheriff in a courtyard at the jail. After getting the reward, Shadow receives a note indicating the value of the loot talen from the bandits. With this he goes to a pub and he and ‘Aisha are brought food. The server correctly brings ‘Aisha a salad. However she brings Shadow a meat and cheese tray with bread. He refuses the plate and looks up at her from under his hood. Seeing he is a pantaar, she apologizes and leaves to return later with a plate of meat.

Shadow offers to split the loot. ‘Aisha indicates that she wishes to find her tribe. Shadow offers to help. After finishing their meals Shadow leaves one silver piece on the table and leaves. ‘Aisha follows and together they go to a merchant to sell the items on the list.

Shadow restocks himself for the road while ‘Aisha gathers information that might help her find her tribe. She discovers that most of the merchants haven’t seen her kind within the last 2 years, and the most recent sighting of an entire tribe was 4 years ago.

One merchant offers them a job as escorts for a caravan heading north to Belarn. ‘Aisha accepts the offer due to the possibility of finding her tribe along the way. The caravan leaves from the north gate of the inner city wall in three days. The merchant creates a contract and has them sign it. The contract states that there can be no loss of goods. The goods must arrive within 30 days. To be paid in full Talomere must sign the document showing that the goods were received within 15 days. And the document must be returned to the merchant in Lorago when the caravan returns. Payment will be ~1,000Gp dependant upon conditions being met.

‘Aisha knows that it would take a fast rider 15 days to get to Belarn, so the caravan would have to travel night and day, as well as switch off teams of horse to maintain a decent speed. She will have to buy or rent a wagon and 2 teams for herself and split the cost with Shadow.

Each rent a carriage to take them to Belarn with the caravan at the cost of 3 gold. Once there ‘Aisha hears of a spotting of a tribe of Loxian that passed through 3 days ago and went west into the plains. ‘Aisha and Shadow part ways, Shadow promises to keep her share of the profits in safe keeping until they meet again.

‘Aisha leaves Belarn for the plains, heading west she hopes to catch up to the tribe to see if it is hers.

‘Aisha travels west until she meets with Domak a loan male loxian.Domak was traveling in the same direction as ‘Aisha so when she continues west he simply follows her. After setting camp and having very limited conversation the two of them are again traveling westward through the plains.

By mid-afternoon they can smell smoke. By evening they found ‘Aisha’s tribe. They had been under siege for the last few days by Gnolls. Many lost their lives fending them off, including all of ‘Aisha’s family, and the matriarch of the tribe. Each family group will be splitting off to form their own tribe the next day. ‘Aisha will be left alone.

‘Aisha discovers that the heirloom of her tribe is missing along with the papers that would indicate who it was to be passed down to. ‘aisha does not know that her mother would have received the heirloom, and so it would have passed to her. Since there is no precedent for this it would otherwise be ‘aisha who would become matriarch even though she is younger than her aunts.

‘Aisha and Domak travel north in search of the Gnoll that most likely stole the heirloom. Passing by Cala on their way north they stop only long enough to find out that the Gnoll seem to live in the forests to the North.

Making camp they sleep outside the town of Cala. The next morning ‘Aisha finds a G’nobby root bush, a rare luxurious find. The fruit is edible and tastes sweet. The leaves are edible and when dried can be stored for many days, are often used in numerous dishes. The roots when chewed act as a strong stimulant, enhancing alertness and decreasing hunger (character acts as if they have the alertness feat for one hour after consumption, stacks if they already have it). Too much G’nobby root can cause sleeplessness and fatigue (more than 3 doses a day causes the character to loose sleep for 2 days and be fatigued the entire time). The bark is a mild painkiller when used in dressings. The stringy fiber within the braches acts as a laxative.

‘Aisha shares the fruit with Domak, and prepares the parts of the plant for travel, carrying 10lbs of plant materials.
