Aishas tribe in there nomadic wanderings have come across a trading post and went inside to investigate. Taking the opportunity to re-supply and barter with other tribes and races, the tribe gets split up within the post.
Aisha notices one of the traders has birds for sale or trade. Many very beautiful birds, and one cage with a tarp over it. Noticing her interest in the birds the man immediately attempts to share bird lore with her. He begins offering her many beautiful birds for trade or sale. Aisha is interested in whats in the covered cage, the man smiles and shows her that inside is a cockatrice. Its eyes are covered with a hood, but it is easy to see that it has the head of a chicken, the body of a skinny bird with the tail of a lizard, and claws on its wings. The feathers are very colorful. Aisha asks where the bird came from, the man answered the desert to the west.
Loosing interest in the birds, Aisha notices she was left behind. She goes outside to see if she can find her tribe. Not seeing them she asks a guard if he has seen any Loxians besides herself leave the post recently. He replies, Why yes I have, they left an hour ago. They were moving east on the road toward Lorago.
Knowing that Lorago is three days travel she heads East, on the road to Lorago. Forcing herself to push on through the night she finds no trace of her tribe. 6hours past sunrise shes still going strong. She meets a man on the road. Aisha asks if he has seen any Loxians heading East on this road. He says, Why yes I have, they actually left the road last night. Ill show you where they went.
Following the man Aisha is hopeful. He takes her to the edge of the woodlands and then moves north off the road. Once over a hill he sees an encampment and takes Aisha to it. Greeting the men there as he did Aisha they invite the two of them to brunch with them.
Eating sparingly in her anxiousness to see her tribe again Aisha waits for the meal to be over. The men surround her as they eat, laughing and joking with each other. She asks one of them if he has seen any Loxians pass through this way, but his response is muffled by his food.
Suddenly three arrows hit three of the men. Then three more as everyone tries to see where they are coming from. The men all take cover behind the wagons but Aisha remains drawing her greatsword. Their attacker continues to fire arrows and moving unseen through the grass seeming to be in all directions. After 10 arrows have been fired, they suddenly stop. The men begin to relax until 2 of them fall unconscious from poison. 4 of them had taken antitoxin. Another hail of arrows flies out from the grasses, and the men immediately take cover inside their wagons. 4 arrows total are fired before the aggressor reveals himself to them. Aisha charges the Pantaar hitting him with a powerful charge. Swinging her sword and striking him as he flees, she saunters back to camp looking for food. The Pantaar climbs a tree and watches the camp while the men remain in their wagons, unwilling to come out with 1 dead and 2 still unconscious.
When all go to sleep Aisha stays up to keep watch. When she gets tired she asks the leader of the men to keep the next watch, he tells her not to worry and to go to sleep. She sets up her tent and goes to sleep. An hour later Shadow creeps into the camp and kills the guard dogs and knocks out each man. Shadow ties them up with rope to each other in single file and manacles on the leader. As Shadow does this, (two of the men had woken up while he was knocking them out) Aisha wakes up and sees him tying them up. She charges and gores the Pantaar, almost killing him. She searches his equipment and uses his healers kit to patch him up. While he rests, she searches the rest of his gear and finds an order addressed to Shadow that states a reward for the live or dead capture of these men. They are wanted as bandits and murderers. The reward will be 50Gp +10Gp for each additional man. Also the loot that does not go back to the original owners will be split with Shadow.
