Okay.Check your Bible: if we're using the same one, the Book of Leviticus should be two verses long; and the Epistle to the Romans should consist of six verses (the old Romans 1:26-32) -- the rest of the epistle was deemed "irrelevant" by the Theocratic Fundamentalist Association.

Now very early in the morning, He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him. He sat down, and taught them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought two people: a woman taken in adultery, and a homosexual discovered having sex with another man (the Pharisees knew about this because they had spent an hour watching the two men from the two men’s bedroom window).
Having set them in the midst, they told Him, “Teacher, we found this woman in adultery and this homosexual, in the very act. Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such. What then do you say about them?” They said this testing Him, that they might have something to accuse Him of.
But Jesus stooped down, and wrote on the ground with His finger. But when they continued asking Him, he looked up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.” Again He stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground.
They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, they began to leave one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last.
However, one of the Pharisees spoke up, and said, “That’s all well and good about the adulteress, but what about this homosexual?” Jesus looked at the homosexual, then at the Pharisee, and said, “By golly – you’re right!” And at once, the body of the homosexual was covered in boils, and a dark cloud formed near the homosexual’s house and dropped a tornado (which was later rated F-5 on the Fujita scale) which struck and destroyed the homosexual’s house – and then just as miraculously, ascended into the clouds; and a ring of sulfur smoke and fire surrounded the homosexual as Satan and his demons grabbed the homosexual and the ground descended into Hell.
“Well,” said one of the Pharisees, “at least He did something right!”

(Why -- what do you mean this isn't in the story? Seeing as the Bible is all about condemning homosexuality, but says very little about not being charitable to the poor, acting justly, loving mercy, showing humility, loving God with all one's heart, soul, and mind -- this is the way the story appears in my Bible. I'm surprised this wouldn't appear in anybody else's Bible.
(But then again -- I use the Fundamentalist Standard Bible where Leviticus consists of one chapter with two verses; and Romans consists of one chapter with seven verses.)

Der Alter: if you'll post something worth responding to, instead of large cut-and-paste articles meshed together with bits of diatribe, maybe I'll consider responding to what you post.
Not at all, for the most part I ignore your posts, because of the manner in which you say thingsI really like these "Nonny nonny boo boo" type answers, it means I must be doing something right.
Not at all, for the most part I ignore your posts, because of the manner in which you say things
Which is kind of a shame, because beyond the "here let me beat the truth into you with a large two by four" attitude, you may actually have some truth worth hearing, however it seems to get lost because of the manner in which it is said.
I like discussing and debating ideas with people, who can take the time to explain themselves but also can answer my sometimes endless (And probably stupid questions as far as the other person is concerned), yet they never leave me feeling like a really silly stupid human being and manage to answer the questions fully and in simple speak.
wizeone (who apologizes if this comes across as a rude post, because its definitely not meant like that)

"cut-and-paste articles meshed together with bits of diatribe" You must mean dave's posts
No we mean your posts: full of quotes taken out of context, just the way that I'd expect from fundies who seem to think that taking a pair of scissors to the Bible and cutting out verses (and sometimes segments from verses), mixing them up together without any reference to context and putting them into an order that agrees with their prejudicial, hateful ways of thinking is actually going to convince anyone but people with the same tiny blind-guide minds.
I've never seen fundies do anything else. They don't read the Bible, they read their own hateful faces in it.
At times academic writing, is dull and boring. Its a little daunting to wade through vast amounts of other peoples thoughts or ideas, to get to what you think and feel.I have always made it a practice to play nice until it is time to not play nice, and the other guy ALWAYS decides when that is.
I do not apologize for several decades of study and knowledge, I try to make all my posts the same as if I were writing a paper or dissertation for credit.
Ok, now there you have lost meI state a proposition, support that proposition based on scripture, and other relevant evidence. I read both Biblical languages, and most of the references I cite I have in my own personal library, BDAG, BDB, TDNT, TWOT, Louw-Nida, Keil-Delitszch, Gill, Robertson, and many others. And I get a little annoyed when someone blows off real, credible, verifiable, historical evidence as cut and paste because some anonymous guy, at some gay website site, says something the opposite of the real evidence.
And OBTW that's one.

.that said, I have to give you big kudos for actually making a very good attempt to back up your argument with actual independent resources, it is a very rare quality in christian circle
Ok, now there you have lost me
Whats BDAG, BDB, TDNT, TWOTm abd OBTW?
CheersUnfortunately that is often true. Not everything can be broken down into the written equivalent of a 15 second sound bite.
.
Thank you it is not rare in the circles I run in.
The first four are among the most renowned Biblical resources used by scholars, 1. Bauer, Danker, Arndt, Gingrich Greek lexicon, 2. Brown, Driver, Briggs Hebrew lexicon, 3. Theological Dictionary of the N.T., 4. Theological Wordbook of the O.T. and the last is internet shorthand "Oh By The Way"
Because I ALWAYS quote entire verses,
Do you really think that the original writers wrote in verses? Try quoting the whole chapter, try taking the full historical and literary context into mind. A verse ripped out of its context is worse than useless. The Bible is not full of magic sayings.
