And my Christianity is not based on whatever I feel like believing, but belief in Christ and his guidance of the Church.

I have no trouble with the nicene creed and believe it all with the exceptions listed. That creed however isnt what saves anyone.

I am very glad you can read my mind however have judged that my christianity is based on "whatever i feel like believing" when in reality its based on Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

My response was to the idea that one can call themselves a Christian yet believe everyhthing in opposition to the teachings and essence of Christ. To believe in Christ is to accet him for who he is and what he did. To for instance, have a view contrary to the concept of the trinity, is to diminish Christ. Don't patronize me when you brought the attitude of saying I somehow believe my Church saves me, which is not the case, and is contrary to Catholic Church Teaching. To deny the Nicene Creed or a doctrine dealing with the esscence of Christ would be to potentially lead people away from Christ's sacrafice. If I sense I'm getting attacked, I will defend myself. I do not deny your Faith, but the Nicene Creed should come back.

The point I was trying to express when stating my view in this thread was the problem with such thinking, as a result with getting rid of the Nicene Creed. I did not judge you. You attacked (not in a harsh or unchristian way) my view, and I defended it.

By coming across sounding like I base my salvation on the creed, which came across a very anti-Catholic, like someone saying we believe we're saved by mary or the pope.The point I was trying to make was dealing with the problems with removing the Nicene Creed as a Standard. I did not judge you or your faith. Could you explain to me why you had to take direct offense at what I was saying??? I apparently can't put forth any arguement on any topic on this forum without getting overtly criticiqued by everyone around me. Maybe I come across to bluntly, and if so, I apologize as I've been trying to tone myself down over the past month, which isn't exactly easy when people flame you or twist what your saying. But my whole point was the problems with getting rid of the Nicene Creed as a standard.

I said nothing about your salvation - i spoke of my own.

You responded to my post. You thought I judged you, and you thought you judged me. We neither denied eachother. So, no foul.

And what do you want the Nicene Creed to be used for on CF?

The Nicene Creed probably unites the majority of Christians, but it also excludes some Christians. That's how using it would be against CF's goal to unite all Christians, because it's impossible to unite and exclude Christians at the same time.

For, now is the time God tests our hearts to see how much of Christ we can be entrusted with in our resurrection rewards. Sadly, not all will reign with him as a result. For not all can be trusted with such power and authority. Which is being revealed here and now by certain ones abusing the power and authority they have been entrusted with.

And, with the others? In how they abuse the power and authority of God's Word in how they accept it, or distort it to reject it.

he link provides you with the references to the historic documentation , most of it by the church itself... so how come you call it propaganda?

Rather it is those who more recently have ignored the chuirches description of the 'council of Nicea' that have promoted it to something which it never was... the evidence is there, you can refuse to read it, but you cannot change what the church wrote about the meeting AT THE TIME and in teh few years following, that has now been turned on it's head by 'spin' of bishops engaged in the church's image creation, not unlike those employed by politicians... the truth is what is lost, and the masses who accept authority without question and without seeking independent evidence from the originals , are the fall-guys to the spin ... the movement of the many toward destruction [Matt 7:13-14] is thus assured because people just won't bother with finding out the original truths ... the same goes for spin about the gospel of the messaih of Israel that has been lost to the churches ,although written in their own bibles in black an white ...

the old saying could not be more true, none so blind as those who will not see ... but clearly it has to be so, else God's declared plan would not work... I begin to see then that His declared plan will work because of men's blindness even to what is before their eyes to what they even say they believe ... [but if men believed Jesus as Lord then they would obey him as lord and stop sinning ... instead men do not obey him, they have not the strength of God's word to do so , and so he will declare at his return, as he has said, that he NEVER knew them, despite their claims now that they know him , I doubt therefore that you can even understand these few words by Jesus which he says he will say at his return :-

Jesus here CONTRADICTS mainline christian teaching in modern churches, he states that ALL sinners, those working iniquity [sin] will NOT be taken by him at his return , he tells them to 'get lost' because they are still sinners, not perfected in love as the FEW saints by then

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

---Sinners ,even those who call themselves christian, are NOT perfect and do NOT obey Jesus as Lodrd in his command to love God te Father and so love all men perfectly at all times after spirit baptism to know all truth [again promised by Jesus -John 16:13- but most christians do NOT know all truth before they die]

It is simply what Peter said, FEW find the narrow way of sainthood by Jesus' return, and as Jesus again says . the many are saved afeterward

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

It ain't that hard to see that the many do NOT go by the same path to find the way of Jesus to the spirit [baptism of the spirit followed by perfection of love in trial of that GIVEN faith from God], but it is impossible to make mne see what is written in these scriptures of God ... it amazes me actually , men truly prefer the words of sinners' dressed up in robes, to the words of God's prophets and saints in scripture...

It's a very important sign that the creed does not unite all christians since only a FEW find the narrow strait way and there are many christians, and FEW are excluded...

Matt 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The other irony which christians ignore is that JESUS himself reveals that these MANY of all nations are saved, but AFTERWARDS, after the first resurrection ,after the few redeemed at his return then ...

Thus the many go through destruction in death and are resurrected at the second resurrection to be saved afetrward :-

It is just amazing to me that christians cannot see these words revealed by Jesus... that the many cannot see what Jesus says will INEVITABY happen to them by his prophecy..

How can people CLAIM to believe him and yet disbelieve what he says because their priests tell them to do so or they read it on the web?

Surely Jesus' words are better evidence of what he will do ???
