How long will it be before most Christian thought is considered a hate crime and deemed illegal?

Friend, your conscious space is between you and the ever-present Creator. No one can take from us the ubiquitous, divine presence. That is absolutely not the problem.

Saucy's point is much more accurate here, and PH is dodging all of the obvious problems with his view. The idea that Christians can think whatever they like so long as they keep their mouths shut and do not evangelize is not a Christian view, nor is it anything near free speech, nor does it represent a rational understanding of human nature, for humans are by nature social creatures who share their ideas and beliefs.

To pretend that the problem of free speech doesn't matter in general, or doesn't matter for Christians or religions, is just willful ignorance. There is nothing reasonable about it.

Is that the Tolerance Paradox thing?

Perhaps, could you say more?

My point is that it is hypocritical to hate someone because of their hatred, and Jesus was opposed to such a disposition. Given, then, that the OP is fairly clearly motivated by a hatred for Alex Jones, we have an instance of precisely that sort of hypocrisy.

This can also occur with tolerance (and often does on the Left), but the problem there is rather that the Left is unable to admit the simple truth that tolerance is not an absolute value. Therefore that is a more mild form of hypocrisy. (And surely if someone holds to a 'tolerance paradox' then they are not holding tolerance as an absolute value.)

I unclicked "ignore" to view content because I no longer goad and provoke. I did not see anything worth my time.

I guess you missed the point. The point is regardless what your president did it is not your fault. There is no such thing as by association crime. Everyone is liable for the crime they themselves have committed. Same goes with Alex Jones and his followers.

I got your point but I obviously disagree with it.

I disagree that Jones hates anyone or is motivated by hate. He seems opportunistic and unconcerned by what his actions wreak on already suffering people.

I don't like what he did. I do not agree with him. But I do not think he should be punished. His statements fall under the protection of the 1st Amendment, so I hope he appeals and wins.
Libel and slander are not covered by freedom of speech. Like every other right it is not an absolute right with no restrictions.
