note here the text says if faith doesn't have works, the faith is dead. It doesn't say fiath isn't enough, it calls it a dead faith. the problem is with the faith.

That is an idiom it is not literally saying that faith does works. That is why the NIV say's "if it is not accompanied by action"; WNT " if it is unaccompanied by obedience"; TCNT "if not followed by actions" and the context of James 2 as I have already shown say's the person is the one who does the works not the faith. The faith gives the person the ability and determination only (Phil 2:12,13) but the person has to do the agonizing works himself.

What you are saying is the exact thing Paul refuted the Judizers on in both Galations and Hebrews.

The whole purpose of the book of Galations was to combat the judizers who would follow Paul and tell the new believers "It's greaat your saved, but now you maust keep the law to stay saved. Paul made it clear, start with faith end with faith. same thing in hebrews.

Jas 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

Do you keep the WHOLE LAW perfectly, or you guilty of violating the whole law? If you are angry with your brother unjustly only for a moment and die before repenting, will you go to hell?

1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

You still miss what Paul was saying. He was speaking of the ceremonial aspects of the Law not the moral aspects of it. He was saying that a Gentile can remain uncircumcised, not visit the Temple in Jerusalem, not observe holidays and can still be justified by faith. He in no way allowed that people can be sexually immoral or idol worshipers or murderers and still be justified because they have faith.

Now you are confusing two seperate issues, in trying to set up a strawman.

No one says that you can "live like Satan" and still be saved. No, that is antinomianism.

What Scripture teaches is that one is saved apart from the commandments, and that those who are truly saved will seek to keep the commands of God, even though failing at many points.

Jesus told the rich young ruler to keep the commandments because he was looking to justify himself.

If you think you will be saved by keeping the commandments, then you had better keep them all and keep them perfectly.

I will ask you the same question I have asked before. Where do the Scriptures seperate the Law in civil, ceremonial and moral? They don't. They simply say the Law and mean all of it. Paul nowhere says the moral Law as opposed to the ceremonial Law. He simply says the Law. You are the one who is missing the meaning I think.


BTW; those who have the Spirit of God have the Law written in their hearts and do not need outward ordinances to keep them in line. Claiming that we must live by a set of rules, which men pick and choose, is to once again put us under bondage to your rules. Christ has set us free from bondage.

Just another example of arrogant humanity seeking to make themselves righteous.

In that perversion of the Gospel, the Atonement of Christ only makes the "initial justification" possible, but humans who are still trapped in a body of sin, have to finish off the deal. Apparently Jesus's Atonement was not enough to satify God, arrogant, prideful humans have to finish what Jesus started.

I get what those Scriptures say but I don't get you. What are you trying to say...that a person can be an idol worshiper, sexually immoral and be justified before God too?

Wrong, Scripture teaches that initially one is saved apart from the commandments, but a man better keep the commandments to realize that salvation. Jesus and James 2 makes it clear that subsequent justification is by works and not by faith alone.

Paul makes the distinction clear in Galatians. He speaks of the ceremonial law only. Later in the epistle he lists the moral aspects of the law as the works of the flesh but contrasts the fruit of the Spirit which has no law against it. You are mistaken to think that a person automatically lives by the Spirit just because he has faith.

Was it arrogant pride for the Israelites to take over Canaan with God's help. God didn't do it for them. If they didn't do it then God couldn't either..remember? They had to make the right moves...not God...in order to take over the land.
