When Jesus said He came to fulfill the law He meant that He came to keep and uphold it in perfection so that He may be the perfect unblemished sacrifice for us all.

I don't understand your response. Are you referring to both verse referenced in my post?

No I was just explaining what He meant when He said that He came to fulfill the law. Many people don’t understand what He meant when He said He came to fulfill it.

I don't think we both see the same thing when we look at those same two verses.

(CLV) Jer 33:20
Thus says Yahweh: If you could annul My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night so that daytime and night fail to come about in their proper time,

(CLV) Jer 33:21
then also My covenant could be annulled with David My servant, so that he should not come to have a son reigning on his throne, and that with the Levites, the priests, My ministers.

Do you believe there are sons of Levi serving as priests today, then?

Do you not believe that Yahshua is reigning on the throne?

Is not YHWH's word the truth?

Yes, I believe that Jesus is reigning on the throne, and that the Lord's word is truth.

I do not see Levites serving as priests today. Do you believe they are serving today, but are not visible, like they are serving in secret? Or are they serving in heaven? Or are they not serving currently?

Truth is that which has been sent to the earth from heaven by the will of the Father.
John 3:
31
He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly
and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
32
And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.
33 He who has received His testimony has certified that God is truthful.

Ministering in truth is understood in simplicity by these words of Paul:
What I received from the Lord, I have presented unto you...1 Corinthians 11:23

This is why Yeshua said "you must be born again (from above!)
John 8:
23
And He said to them, You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world;
I am not of this world.

24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am,
you will die in your sins.

25 Then they said to Him, Who are You? And Jesus said to them, Just what I have been
saying to you from the beginning.

26 I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is truthful;
and
I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.

Romans 10:
6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, Do not say in your heart,
Who will ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above)
7 or, Who will descend into the abyss? (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
8 But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart
(that is, the word of faith which we preach).

James 1:
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from
the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be
a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

I was pleased to see a poll with this thread, but disappointed when I read the options. As a result I did not cast a vote. If John 1:1 was an option I think most, if not all, of us would agree. In fact, to limit the choices to one or two verses in the Bible taken out of their contexts is rather ludicrous.

Well there you go. It's no secret. Walk into a synagogue today; and you can find Levites, YHWH's priests, serving YHWH's ministry.

Shabbat shalom.
Thanks! Do they have to be sons of Levi?

It depends. Reform Judaism has no restrictions. Both men and women can be cantors and nobody is at all clear about their genealogical history. Millennia ago the practice of tribal intermarriage was abandoned, primarily beginning with the dispersion of the Jews among the nations. As for Conservative and Orthodox congregations some may claim to be Levites but the claims are really quite sketchy, especially when one's ancestry also comes from other tribes.

Right, so we can go into a synagogue today and see someone serving as Rabbi or cantor, but we can't actually say if they are a son/daughter of Levi.

To me, that would qualify as a levitical priesthood that is not visible.

Sort of. A cantor is not a priest. A cantor merely leads the prayers of the congregation. He does not offer sacrifices as a Levitical priest was required to do, nor could he, except in the broadest sense of the word.

Right, I was using the broadest possible understanding of Priesthood.

The rabbis today don't actually sacrifice things either, do they?

Correct. The meaning of the word, rabbi, is simply "teacher". A rabbi is not a priest in any significant sense of the word, but is a teacher. Curiously, Christian churches much prefer preachers (or orators) over teachers, as a rule.

Rabbis? Are you conflating Rabbis with Priests?

Sacrifice: From the Latin Sacer (sacred, holy, or Hebrew kadosh) + Facio from the Latin which means (do, make)

Now kadosh means dedicated. Are you suggesting that no Levites are dedicated to YHWH?

As far as what sacrifice means is concerned, a multiple of Hebrew words have been translated as "sacrifice;" and most Christians have no understanding of what those words mean.

I've started an in-depth study on this subject. You can find it here: YHWH's Table (Part 1)

I thought that's what you were saying over here:

Shabbat shalom.
If it's not the rabbis who are acting as priests in the synagogue, who did you mean that we would see as Levites, the Lord's priests?
