What is the quality of your relationship with Jesus (Part 1)?

Jesus is always close to us. Nonetheless, many times, it happens exactly what it is said in the passage of the ten virgins (Mt 25:1-13): Jesus is close, but we look on Him as far and late in acting (Luke 18:7). He is always close (as He promised – Mat 28:20). It is us who are anxious or in the wrong place.

What we need to do is have great intimacy with Him so that we can “detain Him”, feel His presence and hear His voice continuously (to be one spirit with Him – 1Cor 6:17).

Nonetheless, how are our feelings about Jesus? When Jesus called Matthew, he made a banquet and invited other publicans and sinners to sit down with Jesus (Luke 5:29). Shulamite craved for being with her bridegroom (Song 3:4)? And what about us? Do we feel delight in Jesus’ presence to the point of having Him always in our mind and yearn for the time of prayer and meditation on the Holy Scripture?

After all, the Creator said:

• Isa 45:19 -> “I did not speak in secret, in a land of darkness; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, ‘Seek me in vain.’ I the LORD speak the truth; I declare what is right.”.

And we can find Him, if we really desire:

• Jer 29:13 -> “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”.

Never think that the Creator forsook you:

• Isa 49:14-18 -> “But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me.” “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me. Your builders make haste; your destroyers and those who laid you waste go out from you. Lift up your eyes around and see; they all gather, they come to you. As I live, declares the LORD, you shall put them all on as an ornament; you shall bind them on as a bride does.”.
• Isa 54:1-3 -> “ “Sing, O barren one, who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left, and your offspring will possess the nations and will people the desolate cities.”.

So have a good day certain that:

• Lam 3:25 -> “The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”.
